It’s honestly so wild that they often go for short women. Probably an insecurity thing to make themselves feel bigger since if they were confident they wouldn’t feel challenged by a tall woman. Petite women have that “cuteness” factor about them too that I know they get upset by because they want to be taken seriously and they don’t like being viewed as children. I won’t say most are like this but some tall men do date very short women because they are the closest legal option for dating children and these men are attracted to kids/teens. And the fact that so many short women romanticize and fetishize these height gap relationships is kind of weird, especially since it’s been happening after the rise of petite girl x big dick porn and daddy dom porn that’s legally replicating child porn as legally possible with 18-21 year old women. I’ve always thought that because we live in societies of height discrimination and inequality, if you are a tall man you should be looking for a partner who’s also tall so you don’t end up with a average-short son that you might have if you marry a short woman. For short women, it may seem like a gene upgrade for their kids but it’s wasting away the tall genes of the dad, which will result in less dating partners and career opportunities for their son who has a high chance of being short or average, with the rare chance of being tall. Maybe if we didn’t discriminate and value men differently based off something they can’t control that says nothing about who they are as a person (height) we wouldn’t have to deal with this ridiculous culture to begin with.

They lie because if enough men lie about their height to short women who don’t know any better because everyone looks tall relative to them, they can get away with it. If every 5’10” dude says they’re 6ft, then women will start to assume that that’s what a 6 ft guy looks like. And when those women meet a 6 ft guy they will assume they are 6’2”. And those taller guys have to lie about it too to help out their shorter friends so they don’t get busted for their lies. 1-2 inches isn’t that far of a stretch compared to tacking on 3-4 inches so this kind of behavior will continue forever. You could try to just tell men to be confident in their height and say it honestly but if they did that they would have less of a chance getting dates on apps. To compete and survive they need to pretend to be the ideal height or women won’t give them a chance because there’s just way too many available options of single men on dating apps that they end up sorting for the best men on there based off surface level traits listed on the apps because there’s no way to even get to know these people well on a phone screen. Old school methods of finding people at hobby events/schools/volunteer work/church are far better at finding a partner that looks past your appearance because they can see your in person humor, mannerisms, etc. and it makes a difference to have real chemistry.

I can no longer date anyone of the same height or shorter as I used to. Immediately friendzone because I instantly become friends with same height men and unattracted to shorter men. I've dated a guy as tall as 6'6" and honestly it felt nice haha I like putting my head on a guy's chest when we hug. The man I'm seeing now is 6'3" and it's still nice.
