Lyme Regis is renowned worldwide for its incredible fossils and over the weekend thousands descended on the town as it celebrated its rich geological history with the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival, the greatest public palaeontological event in the UK. There was so much to see and do at the family friendly event with an myriad of trade stalls displaying their fossil curios, an abundance of activities for all ages including guided fossil walks, fascinating exhibitions, fossil polishing, creative clay modelling and lots of hands-on science plus some thought-provoking and entertaining talks.
