Thanks for this informative video. Had seen various videos of foreign therapists. Im glad even our Indian doctors hav taken this initiative. In fact this should be a post surgery information to d patients. After my surgery,I was shown exercises which hav been very useful for recovery But I hav swelling in d side of d operated breast (right) whichakes wearing of d bra very uncomfortable. This is an excellent video demonstrating self MLD. Also would request Physio HODs to train young therapists and certify them. Most of them do not know. Tata Memorial has a 6 month certificate course. 👍🌸
I totally agree to this .This training is the need of the hour . Although simple it requires skill and knowledge.Mam there should be some training available.
Dr Geeta..i was operated in 2010 n i had minor swelling. But suddenly in June i had insect bite itching on arm n painful swelling near thumb. But took local doctor medicine n it was fine for one weel. But after sometime i had swelling in fingers n slowly in whole hand. I took lymphatic treatment in Tata hosp. since i was their patient for four weeks. Thereafter i took lymphatic drainage treatment in Ahmedabad for three weeks . I regularly bandage my hand n do exercise but swelling is still there. I follow drainage videos also. Pl guide me what i must do now. Where is your oncophysio clinic? So i can visit you. Dr. Geeta, Will this drainage technique works to decrease seroma in dead space after ld flap surgery also? I got it aspirated thrice. That was around 300 ml. It's coming back again. Dead space is quite big.
Ma'am meri mother k dono breast ka Operation ho chuka h but 2nd breast Jo abhi hua tha wo bht panic h...n hand m Jada swelling h.... physiotherapy b ho rhi h....but pain km nhi ho rha h... kuch solution ya exercise kuch bataiye ma'am... It's a humble request to you ma'am.

Thank you dr. I want to ask one thing more now chemo and radiation are both going on how much outdoor exercise you will recommend as off now before I was diagnosed every day I cycled at least 15 kilometers. now I want to start again.
You can start again but go slow. Listen to your body and stop when you start feeling tired. Once you have completed treatment, you can gradually build up to your original 15 kms over 5-6 months
Mam, I am from kerala. 18:years pahale manipal hospital cancer center se surgery (lumpactomy) kiya dha. Ab our koyi problem nahi hai. But dhoda sa swelling hai. Kuch salom se eisa swelling hai. Mei health club jakar aerobics karthi hum. Ab drinage massage karne se vo swelling mit jayega? Pls reply. 🙏🙏
You should try conservative measures diligently like manual lymphatic drainage, multilayer dressing, compression sleeve etc If it does not respond, surgical measures in the form of lymphovascular anastomosis (LVA), groin lymph node transfer etc may be tried. The experience is limited but there are reports of about 50% patients doing well with this procedure.
Hello, Mera right hand me lymphedema hai 2010 se, Mera upper hand me bahut swelling hai as compared to lower hand. Soft hai hand hard nahi hai, theek ho sakta hai kya ?

Lymphedema can happen any time during your life time after surgery for the lymph nodes. Please follow the exercises, bandaging techniques,manual lymphatic drainage etc to start with and meet your lymphedema specialist for expert advice.
