In knife fighting training, the most commonly used method is stabbing, and the second most commonly used method is to lightly chop the opponent with tip of the knife. So I think Cold Steel's XL Folding Knives are very good, enough overall length, sharp enough point, long enough blade length.
Idea of stabbing, cough, something and cutting through several ribs like that is just wild. One of the reasons why i want the serrated tanto voyagers, even though at this stage of 'knife life' im not too much of a tanto guy. edit: now thinking of it, with vaqueros you wouldnt do that because tip would break. But i wonder whether serrated kris ti-lite would be able to do the same kind of crossrib cut, since kris cold steel got very think tip.
@@anonymousf454 serrations give deeper, more destructive cuts even when the target is covered with lets say denim, and even leather. They're also more destructive in a stab than a clean, surgical cut from a plain edge. Plenty of good video's to confirm it! Look em up and see for yourself and then decide if you'd like them on your knife, or not.
@@jorgefernandez6407 Cool....I bet a half and half would be a great compromise. I always heard in an actual knife involved fight, it's way harder for a slash to be effective because cloths are usually a little loose fitting, and people are dodging and jumping around.
0:05 Voyager XL Tanto 0:06 Ti Lite 6inch, hard to judge by the blade but i think it might be Signature series one(clip point) 0:10 Voyager XL Vaquero 0:14 Espada XL, the "budget" version with AUS-10a blade and rough G10 handles 0:45 and 1:08 Voyaget XL Tanto again The "Espada Large" had the blade and handle size comparable to Voyagers XL(5.5inch blades), and can be carried in usual pants/jeans front pockets without much trouble. Espada XL has 7.5inch blade and longer handles as well, and is quite a challenge to carry in the pocket of even mans pants.
