LYNYRD SKYNYRD Graves | Hell House GENE ODOM Tour of Jacksonville 

My oldest son and I have taken the Jacksonville tour with Gene. It's a shame the city of Jacksonville doesn't do more to preserve the landmarks of the greatest band ever. Gene Odom is a national treasure, thank you sir for the most amazing day of my life.

Gene has been one ace of a life time friend to Ronnie. He's thought and kept him alive since the day he found out Ronnie was gone. He's one in trillions that's left. If only all men was like him.

I've seen a few of Gene's interviews. He is awesome. Can you just imagine hanging with these guys in the 70's? Priceless. Great series, Jordan.

Jordan, I learned so much today about one of the best bands ever. I started to tear up when you were asking Gene about the plane crash. Seems it was hard for him to talk about. What a blessing it is to have someone who really knows the facts. Gene is a wonderful man. So happy we got to hear his story :)

All I can say is “wow.” What a great vlog. I was hanging on every word when Gene was describing the crash. Amazing that he survived. Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of a kind. Thank you so much for this vlog.

I remember this event. My friend had just bought the "Street Survivors" album and the crash happened and they pulled all those flamed albums off the shelves. Thanks to Mr. Odom for the story.

I’m lucky I found this video because it was full of priceless information about the band. Obviously Gene is still in Security Mode protecting his friends. What a legacy ❤❤❤❤

Wow this was really a tour with a true Lynyrd Skynyrd insider who knew all of the scoop from the very beginning . Gene was with them all the way , even to have survived the tragic plane crash. It was incredible to hear him talk about this legendary band and it's members as just hanging out with his buddies, some from as far back as childhood. Thank you Jordan for this and thanks so very much to Gene for giving us so much insight into the legend , even it's most painful parts.

I can see the sadness in his face when at the gravesites as if he's reliving the moment and the good friends he lost, it must be hard even after all this time. I was just at Criswell park. It's a football field now. The baseball diamonds forgotten about though it is still there. The football field cuts off the baseball field. So it's been shut down a long time. I dug the grass away and found the home plate. I own it today.

I just wanted to mention to you I've been subscribed to your channel for quite a while I'm now going back getting to watch some of the older videos that you have done and you got one with you and your grandpa or you went to the grave of Joe Nuxhall and Cincinnati Reds Crosley field replica which I think was great I got to go see the last game play there it was a late birthday present cuz my birthday was June 10th and I believe it was played the last game was played the 24th of June 1970 so anyway your grandpa's awesome love to see that anyway keep up the great work that you're doing I am a big fan and I just wanted you to know that and I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated that video that you done about Joe Nuxhall and Crossley feel with your grandfather he's awesome thank you again

I’m building a guitar from wood from the Hell House original Dock, and foundation from Hell House, and incorporating metal from the plane. Once it’s complete we will loan it out to touring musicians so those timber’s will continue to sing and vibrate. LLLS. Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I got to visit Ronnie Van Zant's grave last summer and the site where Hell House once stood where this song was written. The original dock is still there but there's a playground there and campground there now called Van Zant Memorial Park. They also have a marker there stating where hell house was.

Gene Odom speaks the truth. Over the years his story's remain the same. Once you've had a taste of the truth, everything else is nothing but cheap whiskey.

Losing Gary Rossington is like baseball losing babe Ruth. Thanks for the great tour. So glad Gary gave his life to Jesus Christ of Nazareth. See you in heaven soon brother.

That is so very sad. That people have no respect for the family's. May they rest in Rock and Roll Heaven with family and friends.

I have been pretty numb or, I guess just emotionless towards the whole plane crash thing until this man opened up about it, and I could feel the pain for the first time. Tragic.

Thank you for this tour. A sad one, but I now feel a lot closer to those greats who made legendary music.

What an amazing video. I can’t believe people would break into the graves and steal ashes and try to steal a body 🤦🏼‍♀️

Recently viewed a video on youtube showing Ronnie has been moved down by a pond within about a 100 yards of his former burial site. New sod had been laid over old grave and tombstone removed. His name no on new grave which is buried in concrete and topped with a large stone slab. Appears to have room for many surrounding graves but at present all alone.

Ever notice Gene always wears a white shirt in all his interviews lol.. Love the man. I would pass out if I could ever me him.

I went to that school for a couple of months in the 70s before I moved to Inglewood, ca. Everyone knew them around. I always felt like a fight was going to happen at any moment there. Which they did.

I see see this guy used the polaroid picture Of Allen and I that was taken in August of 1974 in front of Hell House. Ronnie stopped singing and said "I smell a Skunk" We cleared out outside for a while to play ball (The picture of Allen swinging the bat) as a dog had killed a skunk and drug it to the front door. The band finished writing "On the Hunt" that day. Which went on the "Nuthin Fancy" Album. Artimus had just joined the band and was learning the songs. Ed King was not there as he had already left the band.

Yes, and now his wife moved away him from here, to reburied him alone. Completely alone in the same cemetery. Why his wife have done this sad thing? Removed him from all his family graves plot and members friends band!!!! .. it’s very sad and horrible these stupid wars from members of the family. His wife! So unrespectful , my opinion 😢 3 times that they moved him.. leave in peace this poor simple man! Damn!

Jordan , I don't know if you noticed this while you were recording this at where ronnie was first buried but when Gene was talking about the plane crash you can see Ronnie van Zandt face appear on his old stone play it back and look closely it looks like he was looking at Gene. I don't know if you believe in the after life and supernatural but I do believe Ronnie spirit made an appearance here. God rest his soul.
