I could feel the heaviness in my heart on that stage. If you notice Rickey he watches the video and turns around and wipes his eyes. or that he cries, They love and respect Gary. As a boss, brother and friend. RIP Gary Rossington☝🏻🕊
To all the folks who want to shut the band down, if they come and play in Atlantic City, my wife and I are going. Southern Rock never, ever dies. RIP Gary and thanks for everything. You left it all on stage.
Crying. Fly high Gary Rossington. My heart hurts so much, God Bless You Dale, family, friends and Lynyrd Skynyrd Band. Thank you for the music. Beautiful tribute for Gary 🕊️🤍🎸♾️😭🌹
Saw the band 5 days before the plane crash at the Hollywood sportatorium in fla. Always been special to me still have my tix and concert tee from that special night fly on you free birds...
Ik the original band members are gone now.... But you know Rickey and Johnny are doing there absolute best carrying on there brothers and past band mates legacy's
My fav song of all time. Must have been very difficult and emotional to play only 7 days after Gary's passing. R.I.P Gary. Skynyrd, the greatest band ever.
I just cannot begin to think how tough this gig was to do. As for Damon, Im sure it was very intimidating, knowing Gary Just passed, and the boots he had to fill. If Skynyrd decides to keep it going or not, no matter what, they are and always be the best that Southern Rock has to offer. Fly high Freebird Gary! Tell Ronnie and the band They brought so much joy and great memories to so many people, and they live on in the music.
The band has now come full circle. RIP to all the members that helped me get through some of the hardest times of my life. Lynyrd Skynyrd will always be the best southern rock band ever.
RIP Gary Rossington😔 I've been a LS fan since 1976 after I heard Free Bird for the very first time. If this line-up carries on I will continue to go see them. They are a great band in their own right and I love hearing all the great 70's tunes as well! God bless Skynyrd Nation!
It's like paying a million dollars for a 40 year old Yugo with 2 million miles on it. Sure - you can do it, but it certainly shows how low your standards are.
Gimme Back My Bullets und Nuthin‘ Fancy meine Faves.
Johnny and Rickey close to tears. Johnny obviously chokin'. So what do all of you naysayers want? These guys believe in this band. Let them roll on. And if you don't like it... leave 'em alone. Thxx
0:59 Rickey watching the video of Gary, turns around and has to wipe the tears away... This show must've been really hard to get through without breaking.
@@theeagles1964 Definitely, cause he's locked to that screen almost the whole song, and many times you see him stop playing and wipe his eyes. Johnny, while not crying, sounds like it was rough to sing this one without Gary. Honestly it made me choke up a little watching this.
@@formalguy01 Rickey played guitar with Gary for several years. He must have missed the good old days with Gary by his side. I can only hope that his heart will be strong😢
The Last Rebel is gone. So strange seeing them without him onstage. You can call it a tribute band all you want....but the music and attitude says Lynyrd Skynyrd! Gary, Leon, Allen, Billy and the rest are with them in spirit every time they hit the stage! Turn it up and play it pretty!!
i was there to. so many phone lights and lighters when they played this. best show ive ever seen. was like an out of body experience. Rip Gary. thank you for all the memories and inspiring thousands. You're free as a bird now.
skynyrd We felt you there with us last night, Gary. Looking down from Rock N’ Roll Heaven and helping us get through one of the toughest shows of our lives. We felt you during the nuances of Free Bird, Tuesday’s Gone, Saturday Night Special. We felt you in the roar of the crowd as they cheered your name and stood up for most of the night. And we will forever feel you on any stage and in our hearts as Skynyrd’s music continues to move billions of people across the world. We love you brother.🦅🤘🏼
how lucky we are to have johnney out there doing so good and working so hard to keep the band going and honoring Ronnie. No one could have filled Ronnies shoes but Johnney is doing a great job.
For those who understand they lost more than a bandmate they lost a family member forever in our hearts we're going to miss your big dog rest in peace Gary
You can hear Johnny's voice cracking a bit as he sings. I can't begin to know the emotions he was feeling as he sang. Although most of the original members of the band are now gone, it's great to see them keeping the Legend of the best ever southern rock band continue. RIP GUYS! Play it pretty in heaven.
You're serious? His voice always cracks. He's no good. The song is slowed down and in another key and this is still all he's got. One of the most NON emotional performances I've ever seen. I'm not going to comment on his personal feelings except to say. If he has them they aren't showing in this performance
@@airgunfun4248 Lynyrd Skynyrd was and always will be the greatest southern rock band ever. you obviously ain't seen much. then have you boy? your daddy didn't teach you much about respect or is it that you were too dumb to catch on?
Such a beautiful tribute to Gary rossington, he playing his guitar in heaven with his fellow band mates. We'll miss u Gary throughout the days and upcoming years 😢
Such a lovely tribute to all that are gone from the group. RIP😿💔😿Saw them so many time Mew in the 70’s in Gainsville, best man sic ever, ty guys for caring on🎶
Loved LS since I first heard them as a teen in the 1970's, but now with Gary gone, it's truly time to hang it up boys!! Out of nothing but respect, it needs to be over. Keep touring all you want, but change the name. LS has been over for years, and with the sad passing of Gary, the circle has been completed. They're all gone now, let it go boys!!!!
@@pjyork8879 It's the same thing. There are NO original members in either band now. Gary made it slightly legit, but not he's gone. NOW they're just like Molly Hatchet. Hope that helps. Hey man - if you like paying absurd amounts of money to see something that's entirely fake - knock it out. :)
What a beautifull tribute lynyard skynyard original members are a gone now but we need the lynyard skynyard now I love you guys don't worry about what people say someday I would love to meet you guys I met Ronnie in 1976 but keep it going thanks
Rest In Peace Gary Rosington 🙏🙏 Thank you for the many years of great talent great music great wonderful lasting memories. A blessing we will never forget.
OH SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE SEEN THEM 4 TIMES BEFORE THE PLANE CRASH....I WAS JUST A BABY/ 18 & 19 YRS OLD...& 5.5 HOURS AT OAKLAND CA...12/31/76...THEY PLAYED 9 PM- 2:30 AM WITH JUST A COUPLE 15 MINUTE BREAKS!!! NEVER FORGET THAT ONE!!! ❤ LUV & PEACE OUT...❤
I am a ridiculous Skynyrd fan!! I think its the only 8 track- then cassette as the 8 track gave out, that I played in my car from 16-20 yrs old. I agree with the below on the tribute band comments to a degree, but I assume they had gigs set in stone and had a responsibility to see them through. With that being said, I have a hard time seeing anyone in Gary Rossington's spot!! Also, no one has ever replace the tone that he carried through the years that my ears always crave. RIP You will not be replaced!!
Hope to see the band play at Sturgis this summer even if it is only a tribute band at this point. I loved the music of Skynrd, the Allman Brothers and Tom Petty. All from the south although I've never been to the south. There are some really good tribute bands out there including Petty Fever and CCR. Keep the stoke alive for all of us who still like to see live music and have a good time. Would also be cool to see Artimus Pyle and his band.
Great to see The Tribute to Gary. And it’s a testament to him and Skynyrd that they have survived for so long with only long original member and still being called ‘Lynyrd Skynyrd’. I don’t think many other acts could have done it tbh. That’s why Axl got Slash & Duff Back In Guns. He knew, the fans knew, everyone knew it wasn’t Guns. Unfortunately Skynyrd don’t have this option and I don’t see them asking Artimus back (ironic considering he has more right to it than any of them). So they should just call it a day. It is just a Tribute band now. A damn good one, but one all the same. To continue under the Skynyrd name is just not right.
