I'm 68 and remember the days when i looked just like these guys smoking drinking and listening to southern rock and telling myself that it just doesn't get any better than this. Thanks for bringing back the memories guys. Rock on !
67 here and choked to tears. Missing my sweetheart and simpler days gone by, and in awe of these "boys" paying tribute to a classic of the era. Thank you our sons. God bless.
By the way, plz give some support and love to our originals. You can find us on all platforms (if you’re digitally inclined!) or www.mixedupeverything.com Also our pinned video on our channel is our latest single. Give that a look too! Thanks again for loving and appreciating 🤘🏼🇦🇺
I'm Sorry for your loss Sir. Much respect to you for sharing your emotions with us, watching these guys perform a classic. Im only 34 years old and just lost my soulmate to cancer in June. Even tho I may have spent less amount of time with her, seeing as you're 67, I still feel your pain and my heart goes out to you. Respect to you for keeping her alive in your heart & showing us young guys how to be a good man and showing true emotions is not a sign of weakness. It's shows that the pain we go thru during grief, is the price we pay for loving so strong. Which may be hard, but worth it in the end, I'm sure as you are, we're both thankful to have experienced a love like that! We loved them to the 🌙 and back 🌎!! Thanks for sharing cuz I feel weak when I get brought to tears with songs such as this, but it's helps seeing someone who's got more than double my experience in life, show it's alright to put your emotions out there and not feel weak. Thank you Sir! Happy Holidays! 🍻Cheers from Canada
Hell, I'm 59 and still have hair half way down my back. 👍👍👍 Just not as thick as when I was in my 20s. I got to live the 80s metal years. Nothing has come close to that era yet.
".....is a dream." Please tell us you other dreams have a bit more ambition, maybe including friends, family and children. Or possibly exploring more of the "pale blue dot".
So I’m an old effer Sitting on my leather couch in my big house with a phat bank acct but I’m actually envious of u guys. Young, long hair, tan, shirts off, hanging out With your buds n playin music. Soak up these moments, have a great time but be smart. Great LS cover dudes. Thanx mucho
I bet you grew up hearing this from your mom's and dads. They have got to be soooooo stinking proud of you guys!! We all are!!!!!! I wish you could see me, I have my bic lighter lite and held high!😊😊😊👍
I want these young men from Australia to know that in 2014 the State of Alabama changed the sign welcoming people into the State of Alabama to read, "Welcome to Sweet Home Alabama". I know Lynard Skynard would be proud you covered one of their songs. By the way, look up Orange Beach Alabama on Google images. Alabama has beautiful beaches like Australia.
I watched many cover versions of this song. Mostly, the performers tried to grimace and show off, playing and singing too slowly and with too much affectation, changing the chords thinking that this monkey business and self-admiration would eclipse the original. However, this version is the best because it is truly sung from the heart Respect and love from Switzerland 🇨🇭 ❤
Good music is absolutely everywhere, in fact, I'd say more of it than ever! You just gotta look outside the mainstream. Pop for the most part has been tainted. Back in the day the popular music and the good music were one and the same. Have a gander around and you'll find some magic :)
You gotta be joking, well done? I tried to listen to it and that lasted about 30 seconds. If you're not gonna use actual drums and you don't have a keyboard player just don't go there. It is just wrong.
Ah the memories come flooding back. I was a young hippie and loving the vibes. This song/LP was played at every hangout over and over. I still am moved to hear it at 71👍🏼. This group of musicians are fabulous! Keeping on truckin’✌🏼
I did sit my son down beside me when he was a young teen and had him listen to this song. Years later, we danced the Groom/Mother dance at his wedding to Simple Man. I cried.
I was a 16 when this song hit. Lived in the tropics with beaches like this, rocked acoustics with friends every weekend. You guys are carrying the torch. Thank you young brothers. 63 years young.
Thanks for sharing sir! Sounds like such an amazing time to have been alive back then! I'm only 34 and feel my heart & soul were meant to have grown up in the 60's & 70's the music and just life in general seemed so much more fun and exciting. Not a fan of this technology driven world with everyone dividing against one another. Just isn't music like those days anymore, feel it's dying out! I am thankful for my elders like you for sharing the memories of those times for us to feel as close as we can to the real thing thru stories and the music. May the legends from that era live on forever! Thank you again sir! 🎹✌️😎🤘🎸
I'm 20 yrs old I had gotten woken up 8 to 7 yrs ago when I came home from a mental institution at the age of 14 to 15 My mom played this on my boombox I woke up crying litterly didn't even open my eyes I just cried this song has alot of emotion behind it I know am playing guitar well 30 days of strengthening my fingers but this is probably one of my top most favorites to want to learn from my father he even sayed he might here me on the radio 1 day he's sees much talent he even told my step mom that before his passing know I'm puzzling everything he told me 2 yrs later I was 18 then I'm know almost 21 as of February the 13
Young kids today Long Hair and no shirts and they can actually play and sing without auto-tune,,Ahhhhhhh the world isn't going to end and were all going to be just fine!!!! Thanks Guys!!
That was me 70 years ago, long hair, no respect. But because of the music of 50 years I have more respect than I I ever did, so don't judge our Younger generation
I'm 60, I was 19 when my first Son was born. I played & sang this as his lullabye. I had a second Son and it became their lullaby, and now they play and sing it. 🤗🤟🤗🤟
Awesome story. I'm 59 1/2, sang it to my 1st born son now 33, he sang it to his 1st born son who will soon be 8 and he still sings it every night to him. Pretty dang cool what 1 song can do and mean for different generations ❤
These acoustic covers are killer! For an old rocker like me that lived through those days, it's so good to see the great music being remembered by young dudes. You guys are some cool cats
It seems like just the other day doesn’t it. All the things guys our age have been through including lots of the bad are relegated to not so bad considering what’s going on in our once great country currently. Your comment had a profound effect on me this morning. I’ve got a feeling you’re a guy I would like to have known for all these decades.👍🏻 I’m 66 and still a huge Skynard fan.
@@sweetdrahthaar7951 49 Myself and Skynyrd Is still and Probably will ALWAYS be my Fav band. And I Totally agree with that statement about OUR ONCE GREAT COUNTRY 😭 Strange place in History/TIME to LIVE. Almost unbelievable ALMOST..... Love,Loyalty & Respect Tx
Hell yea man. I wish there was a strong movement toward doing things raw again. Over production has squeezed the soul and humanity out of a lot of music.
I turned 61 two days ago. I wasn't having a particularly great day until I watched you guys play the music that's been the fabric of my life. You made it an awesome day.
Never let the music die! It was good then and it's just as good now... So cool seeing the youth of today playing and enjoying the music I loved and grew up with! Rock On ❤
When modern music sucks so bad that the younger generations actually listen to and appreciate the music their grandparents jammed to as teenagers more. Great acoustic cover, guys.
Every generation, every decade has both great music and crappy music. These guys get that -- check out their originals (which would obviously be considered "modern")...
@@swise63 Agree 100%. I hear some great tunes out there. Sadly you have to look to places like RU-vid to find it. I will check these guys out for usre.
This is what is beautiful about the internet. Every once in a while, you discover a gem that restores your faith in people, and renews your hope that great music will never die. This is one of those moments. Excellent job guys. Ronnie, Gary, Allen, Ed, Bob and the rest of the boys of Skynyrd would be damn proud of this, and I'm sure they're all smiling down from up above.
I am approaching the end of my life that was granted to me by a higher spirit ---- but I will forever be a 80s man ---- even in the afterlife ----- born in 1959---- lived through this with uncles and family that were all rock fans ---- THIS was the time of my life ---- i don't understand how people can listen to this absolute rubbish of today ------ its not MUSIC anymore ----- it actually "MAKES-YOU-SIC"
Exactly… I’m with ya on that! I was born in 1960. Our generation knew how to live. Everyone knew one another & got along.❣️💜 Never any drama. Maybe a few pregnancies here & there. That was about it. Big news. Who got who knocked up. Lol So yeah… The garbage music out there today is just that mostly garbage! ✌️🌻🕊️
Cheers to that!! I can't understand half the words that come out of their mouths and most of it is about the anatomy of men and women and what their gonna do to that part and that part and blah, blah, blah....last time I checked that was personal and between two people that love one another....not to blasted on radios, TV, and social media....TMI...I'm no prude but damn....shut the mouth!!!
I’m over 50, thanks for the memories. I would say none of these fellas were alive in Skynyrd’s prime. To make a classic southern rock song sound so good acoustically, you guys should be proud.
From a 57 year old Ozark Mountain man of Southern Missouri, I grew up riding the backroads listening to this great music. Thanks guys, you give me hope.
I would just like to thank the parents and grandparents for influencing these guys in their taste of music. Great cover guys play what your hearts feels 👍
@@kenyoung1277 As a Bass player, I have been following these guys for years. You can tell he has put a lot of hours into his craft. They are all so talented.
@@Jon_Orr oh for sure, I play guitar, bass and sing a little bit so i totally respect their hard work over the years, they all were born to play that's for sure....
Simple old Tennessee man here, 66 years old, one-armed ex coal miner that grew up riding round in an old 56 Desoto with an 8-track cassette player with quad speakers listening to this heart wrenching music, I was shittin' in high cotton back then LOL. Thank you so much for this beautiful rendition of an all time greatest hit and my most fav song! God bless you all!
71 I am now. Drove on my bike from Germany to India, long hair and blue eyes, in my earphones " sweet home Alabama". When I hear this music, I am still young... Thank you Lord Jesus...!
At 66yrs of age this song lives on and these young men play this song very well..Takes me back to my youth..And even though many years has passed for me...Although the song has remained the same..the weed has gotten better over the years and thankfully hippies never die , they just go on bringing new memories ..thanks guys
I'm 52 year old drummer, Its awesome to see young guys with long hair playing this song! This is outstanding, Imagine how these guys sound playing electric guitars and real drums. Bring the long hair back young rockers! Great job!!!
Long out of control hair. I loved longhaired bands as a kid of the 80's, but this! They would look so much better if they went to a simple stylist. But the music and sound is BOMB.
Hair doesnt matter .. Our band played LS music in the 80's and early 90's, on the same beach ... and we were all in the Marine Corps ... I can still smell the ocean, sand, sweat and coconut oil. I feel the sunburn and hear the crowds even now .... It all disappeared with the Gulf War.. And we became heartless hard asses with deep scars ... So this, is very healing to me. And the hair matters not .... 😎🇺🇸🍻
I was a sophomore in high school when this came out and you guys look exactly like we did in southern California back then, surfing, smoking and rocking to the best decades of rock ever. Thanks for the fond memories.
I'm 76 years old. These brothers are beyond awesome - flawless cover of the Skynyrd classic 'Simple Man'. I've been watching them for quite sometime and have noticed their ongoing maturation both musically and physically.
@@lawnman3638 I was impressed too,I'm sure Gary Rossington would be also if he seen this, and I bet Alan Collins,Ed King,Steve Gaines,Leon Wilkerson, Billy Powell,Bob Burns and Ronnie Van Zandt are smiling up in heaven over this,it's hard to believe that Al Cooper did not want this song on the album.
I remember seeing the originals doing this in a very similar setting at Jax beach many moons ago! These guys are killing it! Please don't forget these roots.
@@eily_b I know, to be honest when I wrote it I was thinking I cannot stand how many times I've read that online. It did feel super appropriate though.
@@eily_b I learned how to play guitar from a Randy Roads ibanez instructional video by the way, love that guy. He''s the only reason why I've mastered the pentatonic scale front which backwards sideways
I know that your Mama is so very proud of all you guys! All your hard work, the way you've grown your talent, the kindness you show your fans, the obvious love of your craft, are the passions any parent wants to see in their child's eyes and they watch you share it with your three best friends ever!
I'm 64 years old and is amazing to watch Kids like them playing and singing old classics of my time. Keep up guys, you deserve a special place in RU-vid and zilion of subscribers. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷🇺🇲
@@leopers9225And one day, they will take over big time. The Ukraine war is a test - the west complained when it started but no one lifted a finger. The russian bear and the chinese dragon will grow bolder, you'll see.
Age is nothing but a number. I'm 61, and although I'm still a rocker/R&B chick, my favorite genres are grunge, alternative (rock, indie, organic, etc.), punk, psychobilly punk. I love everything my folks listened to as well (from the 1920's sound on). I danced to Hip Hop with my kids (still can). Gotta keep an open mind. There's phenomenal music out now by amazing artists! And, it continues to evolve (key word, right there 😉). One of my biggest pet peeves is when people say, with arms crossed, "They just don't make music like they used to!". My response is always, "THANK GOD! How f-ing boring THAT would be.". ✌
I was 4 when this came out, my mom played it on vinyl all the time. Was required listening in South Florida. And you nailed it. Lead vocals, you really channeled your inner Ronnie Van Zant
Skynyrds 1st album came out in 1973--- We drove to see the Who in St Louis and they were the warmup band!!!! I was the 1st guy in my town to have the LP--- In those days in Florida, it was Bob Segar, Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, and the Allman Bros
@@amyyoungblood9464hey, you still get to listen to some classic tunes…practically any time you’d want to. That’s the advantage you have over previous generations. 😊
These guys are marvelous. The sound, their looks, their skill...loving everything about them. Thanks for reminding me of better times, fun times, memories and love for REAL music. ❤❤❤❤
Man.... What a breath of fresh air! I just discovered you guys last night searching for a simple man cover and I was hooked. Im now a fan and the fact that you guys are brothers makes it even cooler. You guys are great, rock on and please never stop!
One of the all time greats. When Rock and Roll was in the magic decade. I'm so happy to see "kids" today who have actually taken the time and given themselves over to committing to mastering actually playing instruments and not pressing buttons. This is art. The existential moment when people come together with tools to move me.
Jamie Paolinetti Great comment! I get tired of hearing people say that there's no musical talent left among today's youth. Bullshit! I've listened to 'tons' of covers these boys have mastered from Rock and Roll's 'magic decade'. They are superb, and make it look so easy; when in fact it takes tremendous talent and lots of hard work to accomplish what they are doing.
@@jaycorby I agree! I wonder if there are any songwriters in their band? If not, I'd love to see them hook up with one of the greats and get some original material! They definitely deserve it! Hey, @rickbeato can you please hook these kids up! ru-vid.comvideos
To be fair, most musicians still play instruments. How many do you know that don't other than a few pop stars and "DJ's"? It's a tiny percentage of musicians that don't.
@@lyman135 Thanks. I guess it depends on what circles you travel in. I'm LA born and bred. I have owned a performing arts theatre there that I've had about 23 years, and work in TV/Film. Because it's Hollywood, we get young new actors, dancers, "musicians", writers, directors... off the boat every day from all over the world. Over the last 5 years or so especially there has been a great decrease in the number of "musicians" who play instruments even competently, let alone have them up to any level of mastery. But, there is a shit-ton of "musicians" who use a computer to mix music. Maybe the real musicians aren't coming to LA any more? Anyway, that's why I made the comment. It was refreshing to see these kids.
@@jamiepaolinetti5087 I understand what you meant. It seems like there are an awful lot of people these days that call themselves or want to be called musicians but really aren't talented enough to be professionals. They have the skill level of your average high school chorus member or garage band but think they are the next American idol.
To those who gave this a "thumbs down".. Is everything ok at home ? Would it help to speak with someone ?? Or, do you just prefer ukulele covers of Justin Bieber music ?
Got back from Vietnam in 66. Hung out on the beaches of SoCal.....lots of "surfer dudes" hanging out and playing great music.....you guys brought back those memories in spades....thank you and keep doing what you do so well.
🤟🤠~ I'm only 63, but I lived in San Diego for a while. I want to thank you for your service brother !! 🇺🇸 Great 2 C these dudes keepin Southern Rock alive eh? 😁👍
