Great video. I agree that the Lyra is capable of a lot more than appears at first glance. One trick too if you only want one voice to drone you can put a coin on the touchplate that way you don't have to keep holding it down.
Really enjoying your series. I have been using my Lyra-8 with an F Dorian scale, with the specific tuning being: F F C G Ab Ab Eb Bb. The repeated notes are an octave apart.
great video ... just received mine a few days ago. what do you recommend for an initial tuning for the eight oscillators to get going with some melodic generation ... I really like the minor scale stuff you had going on here. any recommendations on things you found out from tuning Lyra, etc. Like if there was a video tutorial right before this one where you do the initial setup ! thanks again !
Joey Raia Some of the coolest sounds I’ve found came from just tuning it by ear! Play 2 oscillators together and turn the tune knob until it sounds good, then add more oscillators one by one. Other than that you should get yourself a tuner if you plan to do anything melodic. And check out my 3rd tutorial video, I discuss all kinds of tuning related stuff and do a tuning demonstration!
