An awesome reaction! It’s a shame we haven’t had more Nightwish reactions from you, but I understand your reasons completely. I liked your analysis from a composer’s point of view and that it was completely honest. You were not afraid to point out the good and the not so good. It was a good idea to listen to the music first. There is so much going on in the video that most reactors were too distracted to give the music their full attention. I would be quite happy to hear your views on other Nightwish tracks even if you have already heard them.

The song is well balanced mixed I feel, and yes Floor is a little low, but stil she is there, her instument is more a part of the whole stucture. If that makes sense. Anyway, great analysis. Thanks
The style that we've come to expect (a rock band _and_ a symphony orchestra _and_ a full chorus thumping along, with Floor soaring and belting above it all) will never stop being ear candy, but Tuomas continues to, well, _evolve_ away from the metal-band-plus-Tarja formula. "Shoemaker" was the first time I noticed Floor being less prominent in the mix; here (at least in the chorus) it's even more obvious, where we're supposed to imagine a huge assemblage of ancestors singing to use - Floor being just high enough in the mix to let us hear the lyrics. Floor's voice is a unique instrument that has a place in his compositions, sometimes prominent, sometimes not. (Tuomas has said that when new music comes into his head, he hears it in her voice.) I'm sure the new album will have a terrific variety of sounds and styles, and that Floor will let it rip in more than a few of them.

The very nice video clip masks the weakness of this song. A lot of well-known material has been put into one song, and the production is not that good, Floor's vocals fall too far back in the more symphonic pieces.
Where Floor sings in this song, it is mostly boring and rip off from previous work. Yes yes she is the best singer ever born bla bla bla. This is just another boring single as almost always, lets hope other songs will be more interesting and better live as usually. The only interesting here is the bridge. Yes Troy's voice does not fit, but unfortunately, they did not get basist with a strong voice and preffered friendship over fans which is another nail into the NW coffin next to the Marco's composing input that will be severaly missing.
