It was actually the producer of the movie who stated that the atmosphere on set was electric between them and that it felt that life imitated art. He said that he did not know whether there was something more or intimate between them but it sure felt like there was! This is a video interview of the actual producer of the movie

I didn't like loving Anabelle because the teacher reciprocated the feelings. It felt weird. In madchen in uniforms, she never once gave her romantic love but a friendship Manuela needed. I think this film is beautiful for showing different kinds of important loves. But we have to remember that a kid is a kid and teachers should never reciprocate their feelings

@@miurtouissi1093 Having seen both films, in hindsight, I think that's why I love Fräulein von Bernburg more. Even if it meant leaving her job and having to deal with the rumors about her and Manuela, it is still Manuela's overall well-being that she's concerned about. She knows that Manuela wasn't mature enough yet, let alone an adult to process her feelings carefully. With that being said, however, a part of me wishes that they'd met again when Manuela was older. 😭

I think it's something different from lesbians loving. I also loved my chemistry teacher. She was very beautiful. I liked doing her something in class to pay attention to me. One day she wanted to take an exam and I was very anxious. When she saw me, she asked me if that I am okay and her asking made me feel something that I can't describe it. ❤️

Update: I am now a senior almost graduating and I found another teacher that caught my eye, she is somehow cold and distant and then she shows her kind side same as the teacher in this movie, she is intelligent same as the other teacher but she is different, she is very open about certain concerns or some information about herself. so many things happened in our interactions, that somehow we have this sort of bond, it's not the same as the last teacher that I told, she is super supportive even when I somehow kind of disappointed her in some occasions she still gives me a sweet look and smile as always and seems to help me get more confident and feel comforted. I borrowed her book once and when I gave it back that's when I finally knew why I felt super shy around her, soon enough I wanted to avoid her because of it, yet she was always there and she sent me butterflies to my core, I couldn't help it. it got to her noticing me so much that one time, she saw me playing a song on a Kalimba app and she sang right through the one I was playing and I was holding my dear soul to not faint. she recommended me one series that I watched, it was kind of Gen Z and was not my type yet it was good. she might be my inspiration for a while, yet when I finish senior high, I'll have to confess if not it might bury me for years. she might have known know since i was somehow made so many situations that hinted that i like her. I still hold so many memories as I grow, I don't really intend to have more, like a relationship or a connection, yet I needed to say it if not then I might never relieve myself from all the things I feel for her. I'll just update you soon about it. thank you for listening:)

So...I couldn't confess, I was sort of upset, but I also feel relieved... because if I did confess, it'll just be like an embarrassing moment since a few days ago i found out the she is in a relationship...but for sure tho that she isn't straight, she gave me signs that she might be bi, the series gen z, have a lesbian couple, she remembered the movie/series I recommended from class, it was the series, dickinson (I saw her post). I'm quite fine now that I'm not gonna see her, but for sure I will miss her, thanks for listening guys, if ever I update on my love life I will, if I don't, well, ykwim already. Bye-bye 😊

I agree with you

you should watch the 1930s version, it´s better (in my opinion) and both actesses are the sane age and the move is suposed to concentrate more on the wlw relationship then the age gape

I look at it partly in the context of the time that the story takes place, where quite possibly just encountering another lesbian would have been a huge deal, and hence overwhelming. Along with the fact that the teacher actually did not cross the line ...
