Mike, it's really nice to follow you. This song belongs to their second album (I'm not counting the first EP) which, rightly, is called Teatro d'Ira (theatre of wrath). It hasn't always been easy for them: the first manager didn't like either rock or English, the Italian haters - those who I call the widowers of an elusive "real rock" (jeans, sad face, long virtuosic solos ending in themselves) - were and still are unleashed against them. That's who this song is dedicated to.
I thought that might be the case, but the English translations just weren't totally clear to be sure exactly what it was about. Sometimes meanings can become foggy in translation.
@@MikeReichert however in this video the translation was done specifically by a professional so I invite you to read it because it really deserves a lot
Such a pity about the 'For your love' reaction... Maybe you could give one more trying: even if not a first time watch, it would be interesting listening to your comments and thoughts about one of my favs by Maneskin
Loved this one too! I agree with you when it comes to covering them - it feels like something is missing when Damiano's very particular voice/raspiness isn't there. Their acoustic stuff always blows me away because of that. It shows how good they are at creating good melodies, and how simplicity sometimes works better than overcomplicating things. And as of yesterday, they officially went from the streets of Rome to a sold out Madison Square Garden! It fills me with hope, too. Still hoping for a "second viewing" of For Your Love, though! It's one of my favorites, apart from La Paura del Buio.
I saw a headline yesterday that they had played MSG! I am thrilled to hear that. I don't think they are playing venues that big in most of the country though, or at least the ticket prices didn't look like it. I'm so disappointed that I can't make it to either of the shows that are five hours from me. I would be there in a heartbeat if I could.
Thank you so much!! I really love this band. I'm doing several tonight that will hopefully post Friday and Saturday if they instantly clear RU-vid copyright as most of their stuff does. If not, watch for it early next week. But I'm doing my best to get at least one of theirs up each day. You're not the first to mention they are watching me watch them every day, and while I love that, it astounds me that anyone would be that dedicated, but thank you so very much.
You might be in for some surprises when you go back in their discography, on their first album Il Ballo Della Vita they tried a bit of everything and some songs are very far from what their current rocknroll sound is 😄 I personally love that album in all it's naive enthusiasm but some songs on it divide opinions (and the band pretends some of them don't exist 😂)
This is my first of your Måneskin reactions, and I enjoyed it. I will look for the others and look forward to watching your Maneskin experience. I am a 56 year old American living in Italy and I became obsessed with this band. If there is any way to see them live, i highly suggest it. If you haven't done La Paura del Buio yet, I suggest the RadioItalia version it is awesome. I did laugh out loud when you said you would be surprised if there was a song you did like/think was good...there is the reggae phase.
@@MikeReichert there are 2 songs...Are You Ready and Recovery that Damiano insists are not real and are a figment of our imagination, buy to his credit I think are still on their page.
First, I just watched your reaction to "Zitti e Buoni" and yours was the best pronunciation of the title I've heard from non-Italian listeners. Second, I suggest you listen to "I Wanna be your slave". Obviously the live version at Glastonbury is a must and is excellent for your video but (perhaps privately) I invite you to listen to the live version in the studio (VEVO). In the video you will also have the opportunity to listen again to ZItti e Buoni" and you will be able to grasp aspects that a musician like you may find interesting (also take a look at the official videos which are fun). Finally, I advise you to finish the album "Teatro d'Ira" and listen to something earlier (Marlena, Morirò da Re: you can find both the official videos and the acoustic versions) and some of the covers (Bury a Friend live in Paris, Back to Black and Somebody told me from X-Factor). Then you can move on to the US-produced album "RUSH!" regarding which your opinion will be extremely interesting. Ciao!
Thank you! Although my pronunciation was my first guess, I did check google to hear a native speaker say it before I watched the video so that I was sure I had it right, so I can't take all the credit for that. I saw that Back to Black listed as recommended. I'm going to do that in just a few minutes. Watch for it to be posted Friday or Saturday, assuming that it clears copyright with RU-vid instantly as most do, if not, it will be up early next week when it does.
Ohhhh reactions like real reactions...very good!...a pleasure to follow you...Subscribed!!!! ....ahh...finally the RU-vid subtitles...I know little English and I missed a lot of your words! I sensed, and today I had confirmation, that you were speaking in an interesting way...keep activating them, THANKS!!! 🤩
I'm trying on every video, but for some reason only certain ones are allowing me to activate Italian subs. Most have that option greyed out. I have no idea why.
@@MikeReichert Thanks reply. I had imagined it might be due to a technical problem. I hope it can be resolved, I will still follow your excellent reactions and, as for you the lyrics of Italian songs, I too will try to understand you as much as possible from the "musicality" that you transmit, bye, see you next time.
But for some reason, only this song is allowing me to do it. The rest have the option to auto translate greyed out. I will research this and see if I can find a workaround that's not too tedious.
@@MikeReichert i am sure even just English subtitles help. I know when I watch something in Italian it is easier for me because reading can be easier than listening comprehension.
Italian is the language of music, many of the most famous operas were written (and sung) in Italian. And Damiano has a special wonderful italian pronunciation. I don`t speak italian (my language is german), but Italy is my neighboring country and I love the sound of the language!
OMG yess I've just started watching your videos and I feel the same way with the Italian songs! Just rediscovered them a month ago and in love with their music! Another Italian one I like is La Fine I'm sure you've heard it. But yea it's the emotion in the songs!!! They are awesome
Questa canzone è contro le persone che odiano il loro successo. Ad un certo punto Damiano dice " tu credi , che io sia cambiato, ma io non dimentico il passato " . Maneskin have same friends in all live. They is natural e frendly with all friends
