Vittoria, the girl who plays bass, is the founder of the group together with Thomas, the guitarist. Even today the other members of the group, despite her young age, call her "mommy", also because she is the driving force of the band.

The Eurovision is a European singing contest that takes place every year in which all European countries (most) enter a song, it has to be a new song. It’s a big contest, think super bowl watched by 100 million and double it, nearly 200 million people watch this. Without and rightly so, taking anything away from peoples views on “slavery”, the songs title "I Wanna Be Your Slave" has nothing to do with slavery in this context, they are singing about slave in a sexual context and the fact that more is being made out of it than there is says more about the people making the noise than the songs title. This band is Italian so representing Italy, however, this was not the entry, “Zitty e Buoni” was their entry and they won the contest with that. They are actually very talented and have a number of excellent tracks. They have like a vintage throwback sound, think led zepplin but pushed into the 21st century and their stage presence is as good as you’re going to see anywhere.

You don't need to be into bdsm to understand that the song is about a sexual relationship. Americans see the word ''slave'' and jump to conclusions, without seeing the context.

Jeez Americans and their over-awareness / over-sensitiveness about certain topics is really cringey sometimes. I know something about it as I'm an Italian guy living in the US. Just because the title says "I wanna be your slave" it doesn't mean it's referencing African American slavery. The word "slave" can be used in other contexts too you know? Actually IT IS mostly used in other contexts by non-Americans. African American slavery makes up for what, one of a thousand examples of slavery that you could find throughout human history? You guys need to open your minds and chill.

"I wanna be your slave" wasn´t on Eurovision Song Contest, it is the next title, which was lauched as a single instantly after they won Eurovision with "Zitti e Buoni". Just continue the video you watched, there you will find the song. To explain: "Eurovision SONG Contest" started in 1956. It is not a casting show. Its a SONG contest, where songwriters contribute thier song and compete for the best Song in Europe. "Eurovision" is the label from the EBU, the European Brodcasting Union of all National european TV-Stations. This label is used for TV broadcasts, which are aired over more than one border. Mostly the song contest and sport events. The song is about dark psychic matters. About the doublebind in a dominiation/slave realtionship. (Not explicit in the lyrics, but perverse sexual behaviour such like bondage, domination and even worse lay near). He speak about the emotional thrill doing something wrong - on the one side - and the knowing, that is it very wrong and need an excuse or cannot be excused - on the other side. The craziest thing they made is "Are You Ready". An italian band who sing a tribal song in the english language with african accent. Another hit is "For Your Love".

OMG you're right about the title! They actually won Eurovision with the song "Zitti e Buoni", please check the live performance from the finale! If the video is blocked on RU-vid where you are then it can be found on FB. The girl is a bassist and is actually the founder of the band, she came up with the name :) "Torna a casa", "20 anni" and "Coraline" are also great songs to react to :)

Måneskin is pronounced kind of like moan-uh-skin (not main-skin) but it's hard to explain å to americans. The band name is Danish, there's a whole story to it that i don't have the energy to write right now but if someone wants it i can reply with that later

LOL, so much paranoia about "slave and master" :D we are European we don't have a racist complex about slavery, especially in Italy where we never had proper colonies (we tried to make claims over Libia and Etiopia but as usual for fascists, we achieved 0.1 and claimed 100).
