RTÉ News announces the death of the legendary and much-loved GAA commentator, broadcaster and writer Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh. A proud son of Dingle in west County Kerry, Ó Muircheartaigh began his broadcasting career at age 18 and finally retired from the microphone in 2010, shortly after his 80th birthday. Ó Muircheartaigh's death at the age of 93 occurred on the very same day that former RTÉ correspondent and Northern Editor Tommie Gorman also died at the age of 68.
