I don't know why anyone even feels as if they need tol, first, redeem themselves, as to whether they like Nikki, or not, as if rock n' roll is about technical skills. It's like me. I am an a#1 Heavy Metal fan, and itbis still my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE style of music, butbI have never had interest in most of the bands that don't have rock n' roll sensibility to them! If I want tecnical, I will listen to Classical or Jazz, but in my hard and heavy music, I want some blues and rock n' roll blended in there, too. Like Dream Theater and stuff? No way!!!
Kentucky Bear Arms, with a simple word, or words being spelled incorrectly, yet larger words invariably are not misspelled, you certainly would easily see that it was...oh, I don't know, a typo? Why don't you stay on point, instead of giving someone a lesson in spelling. I mean, with a name such as, "Kentucky Bear Arm," I think that I can safely assume that NO SCHOOL WORK WAS, OR EVER HAD EXACTLY BREN your forte, yourself. This said, what I had properly put concerning Nikki Sixx still stands, and holds water. Have you ever heard that expression, KBA? I mean, because I don't want to chance that you have taken it literally. After all, here in the coming weeks, I don't want you to make an ass of yourself by hitting me back, inquiring about how, "Hey, Nikki Sixx isn't holding any water," etc., etc.! Get my drift you fucking dummy?
You must have lost your grip on reality didn't you read the dirt Nicky's on Book and the quote from Alice Cooper. Saying in essence Nikki could not play the base to save his life however that never stopped Gene Simmons. I'm paraphrasing here. ... Even niki will admit he's not Billy Sheehan or jon from The who. The yes he wrote some killer songs on the back of pizza boxes.. and even though they knocked theater pain I still love that. But I think we both had that ouch moment during the solo or it's obvious he's blast and can't play right anyway
Brayden Dyer almost bought a Kramer a few times but I haven't bought a guitar since 2014 and it was an ESP LTD M-1000 but a accidentally chipped a tiny bit off the top of the pointy ass headstock which I am super pissed about
I'm with ya man!! I saw them in Buffalo this past August and they are still fun as fuck to watch even in their late 50s/ early 60s. But bro in the 80s I'd be in heaven!!! I'd love to party just once with these fuckers in their prime although I may regret it the next day or possibly the whole week 😅
Hahaha. You guys seriously think Mick Mars is good? 🙄. No guitarists here obviously. They had good songs, a unique recognizable singer, great drummer and a badass image ö ü Whoever put those umlauts there was a genius. Think it was Vince. Anyway, I’m here too. Accidentally but I grew up listening to them. Mars is just not very good comparably. “how to play a Mick Mars solo” said no guitarist ever
I saw them on October 24, 1987 in Ottawa, a couple of weeks after this show. They were awesome in their prime! One of the best shows of my life to this day.
Suzy M., I actually have always agreed and said the SAME EXACT GREAT YEARS AS YOU DO HERE, 1983-1987! I am a die hard older school heavy metal fan, not the dung that passed for Metal by '88 and '89, and by 1990, forget about it! Slaughter, Firehouse, Trixter, Tyketto, House of Lords, and other powers of the self same stripe?! No way! Stryper, The Crue, WASP, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Dokken, Lita Ford, Dio, Iron Maiden, Accept, Loudness, Kiss, Keel, Savatage. Guns n' Rose's, LA GUNS, Faster Pussycat, Hanoi Rocks, Slave Raider, Megadeth, Exodus, Anthrax, Warlock, Yngwie Malmasteen, Metal Church, King Diamond, Laaz Rocket, old Metallica, Slayer, Obituary, Van Halen, Y &T, Poison, Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Twisted Sister, Merciful Fate, etc.!
Can’t forget about, “Live in the Raw” by WASP in 87. Or a year before, Cinderella’s “Night Songs” These were the glory days of thrash/glam hair metal era.
@ivan weidner lol even Nikki admits he's not talented at the bass and when they got hired the record company went, oh shit this guy cant play bass. But he's the driving artistic force behind motley, he had the vision and he wrote the songs. Hence why he calls Tommy his drummer and its HIS band. But for success they all need each other so they are the Motley Crue.
AL4N I think you misunderstood my comment lmao I’m a huge Motley Crue fan lol, Nikki dead ass said he sucked at bass playing when he first got to LA. His words, not mine
i wish i was around in this time, best band in the world, amazing bass solo, mick is a badass, vince sings like a champ and tommy and nikki are the perfect bass drum combo.
I searched this video based on what I read in Nikki's book "The Heroin Diaries", it's amazing Nikki looks like he's in a good mood and loving life but who would've known that just the night before he was holed up in his closet at home in LA strung out of his mind with a .357 magnum by his side...
Favorite band, first concert ever, 10-15-87, right after we had our last freshman football game (Mt. Si). We were undefeated, last game of the year versus Mt Ranier, who was undefeated, we were up the whole game, last minute they threw a bomb that went just over my friend's fingertips, they caught it and scored. First and only loss, we were crushed until we started drinking beer with my sister and heading to see The Crue. Awesome night! "Fuckin' down it, Sixx!" Remember that like yesterday!
Written 10 years ago talking about how you were going to Motley Crue concerts filled with naked women, beer and drugs in the 80s as a freshman. Fucking different times man🤣
after reading herion diaries like 4 times and the dirt and watching the movie and all the documentary's i just love these guys even more. nikki is brilliant and by far the most brilliant thing he did was get back the rights to their masters. now they are all worth 100 million each and growing :) good move mr. sixx and thanks MC for being so awesome.
Is this really nearly fuckin' 30 years ago!!! Shit! Feel sorry for the kids today, dont have anything like the fun and party times we had late 80s early 90s with bands like this. No fun in music anymore is there, just shit Rap n RnB.
I think today's parties are way more wild than you had in the 80s. And you don't know much about music or just our generation. All you probably know about is the 80s musics. Rap and rnb are not that popular. EDM and mumble rap and hip hop are way more popular. Even though Im that kind of dude who listen to GNR, Motley crue, Judas priest, Iron maiden i don't miss an occasion to go to a party. and Girls are way more wild than in the 80s imo
Nikki plays an incredible bass solo in this song so if u ask me hes an amazing bassist and an amazing song writer. and iv never seen anything like watching Mick completely destroy that solo like it was nothin!
I don't think anyone understands Nikki Sixx's intellect, he may not be the best bass player, but I bet if any of you went up to him and tried making a chorus for a song or anything, he would take u to the curb, he wrote just about every Crue song out there, and is writing more music for Sixx am, and has written music for countless other bands that have became popular, so don't underestimate Sixx cuz of his bass skills, he doesn't intend to be the fastest mother fucker, he wants to be real with
@@johngill2853 Revisited!!! Masterpiece... The Sound is fab and the outro jam is class... Wish everything was this clean a recording.. Aussies got ACDC,and Crue is American ACDC..
I honestly like the live version of this tune; the album track just sounds too ponderous and over-produced. Also, I still find it hard to believe that Motley Crue could even stand on stage for the duration of a concert considering these and any other antics they might've gotten up to...just during the concert. As one of the band members from Guns 'N Roses put it: "We were doing a lot of really messed-up stuff...but we didn't even touch the outer orbit of Motley Crue when it came to drug use and alcohol."
If anyone even suggested to replace Mick Mars in these days... they would have been true hated... same now... for most... regardless of the grave...Mick is Motley!!!!!!!
I think Motley Crue would be more than happy to break the law as many times as they wanted to. They were and are rockstars and if they could get away with it, they would.
Girls girls girls tour ... Love to read about this tour in the Herion and in the Dirt! Tones of drugs, litres of Jacks and hundreds of bitchs! God bless the Crue!!!
I just read the Heroine Diaries and I can’t believe just how fucked up they are were most days but damn Nikki was so fucked up on everything but he had a love affair with heroine! They were on fire here but still how did they ever make it thru seriously!
@Shagg3223 It was a bass solo, notice Mick putting down his guitar and going sidestage at the start of then solo, drinking. Mick was an alchoholic, but he was a bit more discrete about it. You need to read the book The Dirt, the best r'n'r read, I have ever read.
