Unfortunately the previous album, Dr. Feel-good had brought the glam band chick money in. Although this was the vibe Sixx had been looking for, the label wasn't about anything but money.

I think you're right and more so; I think it's probably one of the most underrated albums in hard rock. Corabi and the mix is top notch!

Does anyone know why that happened possibly wanted washed up singer Vince Neil because he can't sing like he did back in the day (1980's) & I've seen lots of bands where singer can still sing from 40 years ago but partying etc. will make any singer lose it (old original singing voice)

Absolutely, the best album they ever put out. Much more heavy and raw that Corabi brought to the table than Vince ever could.

@@geno1825 From the financial perspective, money and nostalgia. Vince Neil could stand there with a backing track and it would still sell more than Corabi even though Corabi is better. The actual request to get Neil back came from the label because they felt it was more marketable. There's always money in putting the geezers on show. The problem is that a lot of geezers have more energy and talent than Neil anyway. See Alice Cooper who was the opener on their "farewell" tour for some reason. From Corabi's perspective, he just got sick of working with these knuckleheads. I'd have to read "The Dirt" for the specifics, but apparently the CEO of Warner Music at the time, Doug Morris , held a meeting with Sixx and Lee to try and convince them to ditch Corabi and bring Neil back because Corabi "wasn't a star". They weren't keen on the idea because Neil was a prick and they didn't want to work with him and they liked the work Corabi did on the Motley Crue album, even though it didn't sell that well. They worked on Generation Swine for a few years, during which Corabi got sick of dealing with them and left, leaving them free to accept Neil back. When the album got released Corabi was only credited on two of the songs he wrote, so he sued them for credit and royalties, I'm not sure what the end result was for that considering the album tanked. blabbermouth.net/news/john-corabi-looks-back-on-motley-crues-massive-mistake Also interesting to note that Corabi wrote a couple of songs for Mick Mars's perpetually unreleased solo album back in 2015/6, and now he's been booted from the band, so shows the kind of petty dicks Motley Crue can be.

Same here. Neil was great, but Corabi was just a bit better. What made everything worse was going from this to Generation Swine. That was hands down the worst album I've ever heard in my life and it's not even close.

My favourite album of theirs.

It was also a bit of a conspiracy. The record label just wanted them to kiss and make up with Vince Neil, so they completely refused to support this album, or the band with Corabi as lead singer. The album and tour were not promoted by the label at all. At an early 15,000 seat venue they only sold 4,000 tickets, and this video was never in rotation on MTV. Corabi totally got the shaft, not only by the label but by his fellow band members as well. And he's still bitter to this day.

This was on Beavis and Butthead. Just happened to view it on an old VHS tape I had from the ‘90s. Came here to view the whole video.

I am a lifetime Motley fan but it IS their best by far and a masterpiece.

Easily his best performance on record IMO.

I wasn't a huge fan either. Musically there were a few, very few bright spots. Grunge sucked! So glad it, as a movement is dead.
