Wow, that is a very fine rifle. Thank you Sir, for teaching me how to reload a few years back.

It´s actually an M38. Huskvarna refurbished a number of used M96 to the new M38 standard during the WW2. Shortend the barrel...

I haven't been on that website for years. I guess that I gathered all the info that I needed so I just left.

This is a 96/38 the Swedes started to cut down the long rifles into carbines in 1938. In 1940 they started making new M38s in factory with a turn down bolt handle. I have an m38 from 1941 great rifle. On the lookout for the 96 long rifle now .

It was threaded for blank training adapter. The blanks had a wooden projectile that shredded itself on the adapter.

I believe you can buy wooden bullet training rounds for cheap where you are (USA). Pull the bullet and powder and you can reload them.

Hi, I have a M96 Mauser Oberndorf receiver that was rebarreled into a CG63 target rifle. The receiver was made in 1900, and my example has a serial number in the 4XX range with the inspector initials O.G. I,m curious what serial range yours falls into.

The 6.5x55 outshines the 6.5 Creedmoor and is 100 years older 😉

So Great to see that you are still at it and making videos my friend James. I "cut my reloading teeth" by joining your website Ammosmith.com Years ago and took off like wildfire and haven't looked back since. I gotta say that the information I learned from you was Priceless! I've since acquired a room Full of dies for different calibers....Some that I don't even own and can honestly say that I Can Reload for Everything I own except the .22 LR, but the ammo for that is getting cheaper all the time since the days of Obama are permanently over! I've since acquired several new rifles that I Absolutely Love and my last new favorite is the .22-250 Awesome sweet shooting ultra fast caliber and Extremely Accurate. I took the load data right off the back label of a jug of Hodgdon Varget and my Savage 200 spits them out average velocity @4.375 fps. That my friend is Smokin''!!! But I have to tell you about my New Baby and She's a Big One. LOL I started thinking about Lever Action Rifles and I wanted one so bad since my older brother has a .35 remington made back in '78 I think? It shoots lights out, but he wouldn't part with that lever gun for anything in the world...........So I bought my own. I am now the proud owner of a Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in 45/70 and I couldn't be happier! I bought a gel pad that slips over the butt end of the stock like a Sissy...LOL, but it really doesn't kick all that bad. I'ts got a hell of a buck to it, but it's more straight back rather than a crack to the shoulder if that makes any sense? At any rate, I killed a doe this season with that rifle and honestly I never felt or heard the gun go off. And the whitetail made 2 jumps and crashed right there. If Anyone here doubts what this man is telling you, then you should not consider reloading your own ammo. Hands Down. Ammosmith Absoutely Knows His Stuff! He has many instructional videos and I Highly suggest that you watch them.

It's an honor to have you as a fellow shooter and friend, Sir. I have been super busy with work and family as of late but more videos are coming.

@@ammosmith Sorry for holding a public discussion, but I highly respect you my friend and I don't want to have a public discussion with you. If there is any way possible that you could contact me personally I would love to interact. You are the Best at what you do. Even though it's been some years, I still consider you the Absolute Best and teaching others is a Blessing that you give willingly.
