To all you people saying how old you are, age ain't but a number. This track is the reason to get up and out and keep your heart healthy! Born in 1976... and I still have the 7" and 12" single ... one of my favourite songs of all time! I can make this song last forever with two turntables. Party time !!!
When I was stationed in Germany from 1989-1992, I always ran to the dance floor when the DJ played this song!! The club was always packed!! Lots of fun memories!!!!!!
For me 80's were the golden age of music, not only because now I count half a century, but because new technolgy in those days pushed musicians to take thier dreams to the limit.

Hahahahaha I used to looooooove this song and I still do!!! This when music was good... pulling out the old cassette tapes and blasting it on my boom box!!!! Hell yeah those were the days!!!! This song still rocks!!!!
Too cool, M. I know exactly what you mean. In fact I still have my Sanyo Record player, Sony reel to reel, an d car 8track rigged with a 12 volt power supply and a boom box with cassette player... My kids think I'm nuts..
T3Miriam I need you to know how much the word love means to me How it takes a hold on my heart without question and leaves my mind speachless I'm talking about you and the kind of love I hold for you and how much I have thanked god for putting you in my presents I will care and love you forever I can't express how difficult it is knowing that I could lose you but I hope I was strong enough in prayer and strong in faith for you. I wish god to open your eyes and make you well I need you to always surround me with your life I can't imagine being left behind by myslf Iv'e never been so blessed or lucky till I looked and saw you your the biggest gift I could have asked for god bless you miriam ILoveYou .aawe
I feel like that everyday > no matter what happens I got to hear the BEST MUSIC ever dropped. And it will NEVER happen again quite like this. Born in 1971. Cheers from the Mountains of NY Isaaf
Unfortunately age is a number that increases each year but you can never let the music die. I will listen to this type of music till I leave this Earth. This is what's known as a ball tearing belter of a track. Pump up the volume.
I believe it is like this, the matrix exists because we create it. Now, with technology being so accelerated it has been snatched up by higher powers. The world expects ..... the future. The flying car, the sex robot, the snap of a finger to control all that is around us. I believe that the reason God destroyed the tower of Babel is not because of it's sheer height but how much is taken away from his worship. The Bible says he is a jealous God. We best keep it in it's place. This Matrix we create.
Weekend mix shows were not complete without this jam. I have multiple childhood memories with this song playing in the background. The breakdown at 6:19 always gets me.
I used to love to dance to this at the clubs in Long Beach and Los Angeles. Awsome rythum and base. It really gets you out of your seat and on the dance floor. We had a lot of fun. We need more music like this right now.
I remember when this came out; it was just different; I think it hit the Top 10 here in the US and when it charted I was happy and pleasantly surprised. To have something like that make it that big! that year all I seemed to hear was Gunns and Roses. There were other songs later in the next few years chart like that. The music scene was changing.
This song still gets me moving @ 49 ... but as much as I love listening to today's music, the Solid State sound of synthesized music of the 1980's ... WILL NEVER BE REPLACED NOR REPLICATED within today's music, period.😎
TIMELESS... Special appreciation for the fact that sampling was still a newly accessible technology and everything you hear in this track had to be tediously edited in an actual recording studio, then mixed down by a sound engineer before getting sent off for manufacturing before the public could ever hear it. All things considered, VERY AHEAD OF IT'S TIME... 🙌
It was very much of it's time & a huge global hit. To say it's ahead of it's time means nothing. It just probably means that you weren't around at the time of it's release & comparing it to a lot of today's music, which isn't so good, especially on the dance scene anyway.
Oh my god, I had forgotten all about the extended version. It must be 20+ yrs ago the last time I listened to the extended version. And it sounds just as good as the first time I heard it!
Estamos igual a mi 56,,fui DJ Tuve mi luz y Sonido afines de los 70 y en los 80, lo de mejor lo disfrute mucho y no me perdía un baile de Disco, saludos.
oh hell yeah I was 11....burning with my brother Zack in the class...we brought a 'jam box" and we ran around the class with Mr. Phillips chasing us....He finally gave up...looked like he was having a heart attack...the whole class was laughing. I put zack on my shoulders and he was holding the jam box over his head ...good times...wish it was still like that at age 49....my sense of humor hasnt changed.
Reportándome 🇲🇽 con mis 43 años con este pedazo bestial y descomunal rolita, la primera vez que la escuché por aya de 1988 aproximadamente, amonos recio, vengan esos pasitos chéveres 🎉 😊
So happy to have the honour of blasting this tune in my club in the 80s when music was for dancin and dancin was for living!! thanks for taking me back there! peace! (killie Scotland)
Apparently it took 6 or so months for this song to be put into production because of all the permissions needed to use all the different samples! They must have knew this would be a groundbreaking moment to persevere with that. Truly ahead of it's time.
This is incorrect. Almost no one cleared samples back then. It was a lawsuit after it had already charted that caused it to be briefly held up and then some of the samples removed or changed in subsequent pressings and remixes.
Hey " 65 "and still bodybuilding to this tune 👌 it really does the business 👊❤when I entered competition! This was my possing tune 😊I got second ? It really highpes up the crowd 😁
this song was a revelation. way ahead of their time. i would rate this one as much of bringing in a new sound like tracks 'rythm is a dancer' did a few years later.... certain songs come out and you know the world is never the same
I was 14 when this came out. If I could build a time machine and go back to the late 80’s, I’ll do it. This by far, is the baddest techno joint in the 80’s. I miss the days of good music 🤘🏾
This is supposed to be catalogued as "techno" in that period? I am just a little younger than you, and, when someone use the word techno referring to a musical genre, I, instinctively, think to Prodigy, industrial dance music and some variety of drum and base. I'm just asking 'cause of my "tagging perversion" about musical genres, not looking for nuggets nor oil.
I am 63 and a chubby Italian and I loved this song when it came out and I still love today. I was in the clubs from 18 thru 38 yesterday old. You were allowed to drink at 18 yesterday old in my day.... love it...
Loved this, still love it. Played it to my son when he was a baby and it would stop him crying instantly, maybe something to do with the video that goes with it mind.
I had 2 full boxes of cassettes in my loft from that era which I gave to my 28 year old son who recently bought a technics stack system from Gumtree. We sat and went through them all whilst I reminisce he was like that's some awesome tunes on them we both enjoyed the experience happy days. Just goes to show u that tunes r timeless good times 😎.
Me too among another about 200 which i have since the 80's. My first tape? I had a tape recorder and i was "copying" music from TV ! Insane if you compare to now.
Sitting here in this pandemic having my own house dance party 👯! Remember when my girlfriends and I would run to the dance floor, stage or “get up on the speakers “ and 💃 DANCE! In my young mid 50’s and will always DANCE.... and I must say... I can dance 😜. I m Italian and was always asked if I had some black blood in me cause of the fantastic way I can dance and move 😍. That was the best compliment I ever received 🔥💯😁😇
I was a dj back then. Spinning records at clubs and discotheques. Had the greatest time ever. Now Just doing weddings and anniversaries. But still out there around 50 times per year. Still loving it....
Sounds even better today ! Wasn't old enough to drive when this came out .nothing better than banging this out with Base when coasting X great remix 📢💣💥🚗😎
Many a drunken Sunday session at the pub down on the beach in Western Australia, had this as the mid session track to rev everyone back up for the last 4 hours drinking and dancing.
