I purchased the non sub-capable version of the 1700's three years ago for use as computer speakers. Have not regretted the decision at all and still enjoy watching these videos and reading comments. (Although sometimes, "Deep" and "Long Drive" get stuck in my head for hours and hours after I've viewed and listened to Digital Stereophony's content.)
Compare to original track, M-Audio are flatter (as studio monitors are supposed go be). Edifiers are much more bass enhanced & too much colored compared to original track(good for casual/music listeners)
Its good for m audio as it provides the raw sound flat , not boosted and coloured sound like edifier .. edifier could be best speaker for home theatre but m-audio is all good to for production
I am looking for comparison between Edifiers (maybe even higher model than 1700) with M-Audio BX8. But from what I've heard so far, studio monitors will not produce such a pleasant sound as the bass oriented Edifiers
M-Audio better dispersion, horizontal and vertical dispersion curves for both spkrs will quick show that is the true nature of each spkrs. I understand you cannot conduct these measurements at your flats, maybe outside?
I am looking to buy one of these new Edifier speakers which have a sub out port. However, I cannot decide between 1280DBs and 1700BTs. Given that I would be using them at my desk paired with a subwoofer, and there's only about 20E difference in price between them, which model would you recommend?
@@fosterbuster2840 I found a really good deal on the used market, 1700BT, sealed box without warranty, for nearly half the price of the BTs. I'm considering that one since it has a really good price but I don't know if it would pair well with a subwoofer via a splitter cable.
Airpulse A100 vs Klipsch The Fives vs Airpulse A80 vs Triangle Elara if you can get those, i dont know where or how you are getting new speakers or what are you doing for living (very good paying job so you can afford all of this) or if you won lottery and speakers are your hobby and you are testing and comparing them for us different combinations but maybe better leave this for your new place where you get acoustics right cuz you said your current location is temporary so i guess you did not invest much time and work to get acoustics right in testing room if you are about to move away soon anyway thanks for these videos tho
@@happydappyman exactly! The Microphone position should have been changed for both monitors. I'm sure anybody who gets the BX4 wouldn't be placing it way below their ear levels
I don't know if it's an acoustic problem in the new place. But once this is a place of passage ..... why make new comparisons? Will he repeat them all once in the new place? DS is a must. It must go back to being. With all measurements done in a workmanlike manner. The final graphs. The comparison of the original song and song expressed by the hearing aid. With the right listening times. Come back please.
sound from M-Audio BX4 is just so wrong that i dont even know if its missing treble or its completely distorted or something or everything and they want 150 dollars for that? the sound is so bad that we can call these speakers a scam, i bet you can get better speakers for half that price if not even cheaper
the edifer 1700 have a fuzzy bass sound to sound better than the m audio are quite bad both for this channel I ended up with a microlab b 77 and a sub jamo of 8 that sound incredible
