M'ba Anaaba comes from the the village of Widnaba, Ghana, along the hills that form the northern border with Burkina Faso. They play the traditional one-stringed violin of the Kusaasi people known as the Gonje (or "Duulung" in Kusaal) as well as the Kologo (or Kone), a two-stringed, guitar-like instrument commonly used by the Frafra tribe. The gourd shakers are called Siyari.
