Another Numan cover from 1979 from the Pleasure Principle Album.
You may not know it but you will recognise the opening synth riff. Sampled by many others including Basement Jaxx “Where’s your head at” From 2001.
Perhaps a prophetic track about the last machine on earth
Gary wrote about how technology was evolving and where it might take us. To quote Gary “ M.E stands for mechanical engineering, its model type. Long after the world was dead and humans were a thing of the past this machine still lingered. For hundreds of years it waited, unable to die, utterly alone but fully aware”
No guitars were harmed (or used) in this track apart from the late edition of an analogue Bass (which drove me nuts). The synth is just so powerful though. I hope I have captured the “Numan” sound.
Thanks to Alain Duclos for his excellent Bass cover (Saved me working it out)
