Hello, thank you for listening to our music. I hope it gives you some joy and pleasure.
I am pleased that you have discovered our music through this medium. I view this experience as the equivalent of previewing a record in a record store in days of old. However, if you wish to experience the music in its' fullest form, I would strongly encourage you to acquire it in a physical format you can bring into your home. Not only will you then be able to experience the richest version of the music sonically, but you will also be afforded the opportunity to enjoy the tangible artwork, which was conceived in tandem with the music, and serves as a further portal to experiencing the total conceptual and spiritual and emotional content of the work we have labored, lovingly, to bring to you.
I love you,
- Michael Gira / Swans / Young God Records

Incredibly powerful track. I have had this same argument, and I often listen to this track when I feel like drinking. It is hard to listen to, but I’m very thankful it exists.

Man...This piece is soul shattering on many levels. Hits a little too close to home, too. It's really humbling to hear these two people - who otherwise made some of the most life-affirming and emotionally intense music ever recorded - arguing about their money and substance abuse problems. For me, when people talk about "real" music, this is one of the first songs that comes to mind. Thank you Michael and Jarboe.

Haha thanks, it's a recent comment to be fair, and this isn't a heavily viewed video in comparison to some other Swans videos. I think this album often gets overlooked by most folks.

Haha, yeah I'd class myself as a FAN, definitely. Nearly 10 years now. I saw Swans on the To Be Kind tour, and I also met Gira after the show and...only slightly embarrassed myself, haha. I decided to buy the Various Failures comp - even though I owned the original records anyway - and I handed it to him to sign with the shrink-wrap still on. He politely - but sternly - said: "Yeah, I need you to open it up for me, please." Haha! My hands have never moved so fast in my life. I wasn't drunk, but I was completely dazed from being exposed to two hours of a sonic avalanche. That's my excuse, anyway.

M. Gira - You See Through Me Lyrics: [Instrumental] [Refrain] You see through me You see through me You see through me You see through me [Spoken: Michael Gira & Jarboe] [?] Explain to me- That's how it is - [?] And what does money and support have to do with drug abuse? [?] But what- [?] Okay [?] Okay, what does that have to do with your drinking too much? [?] Then why aren't you bringing it up, because my problem is that you drink too much [?] from now on - [?] - is on your shoulders Alright, okay What does this have to do, with the fact, that I worry about you having an alcohol problem? What it has to do with it, is that, now you have to worry about-Michael has an alcoholic problem, but I have to support him, and I have to figure out how to get some fucking money to support him and me, and -[?] Okay, but- That's what you have to do, so figure it out [?] Okay, but, but, excuse me Shut up So I'm wrong, to be worried- Shut up, figure it out yourself, it's not my problem So that fact that I worry about your drinking too much, is not a good thing? I shouldn't care about you? [?] - fuck you it's your problem, get the money, figure out how we're gonna live Why did you drink too much, Michael? The problem is, shut your mouth, get the money, we have to live. It's your problem not mine Okay, I came home tonight, and I [?] - fear, because- Shut up, get the money, we have to - [?] - drink too much We have to get the [?]- figure out how to get it But what does that have to do with you drink too much Michael [?] -get the money, think about it, figure it out. You have to get the money, we're both broke, no one cares about you, figure out how to get the money Let's say, I make a hundred thousand dollars a year, are you still going to go drinking at the bar every night?- Let's say this, you don't make anything, which you don't, you make no money- I sure do pay income taxes,- You make no money, whatsoever. Tomorrow, we have to... You, get the money, so we can eat Okay, can you pay my mother the forty six dollars you spent on her telephone? And by the way, when you were down there, I took really good care of you, I worked really hard taking good care of you How much is that worth? I don't think you can put a price... Okay two hundred dollars, alright? Do you love me at all Michael?- No You see through me

@@RC--ji2ov let's say that, whatever he said, the meaning behind it is "I'm a jerk right now" anyway! But I have to add that, from what I can get of the argument in the song... Seems very similar to the routine argument between me and almost every girl I had a relationship with: where I appear like the most evil jerk on earth, even if I'm not... Sometimes people push you to the edge with their "I'm worry about you" but not doing anything to help you and just keep pointing finger only to worsening the situation... Ok RC-1138, I'll come back tomorrow to continue this therapy session! 😄

I know this probably wont be answered but the biggining of the song sounds so eery was it made with a violin? Cello? It Sounds so good and I would like to know if there are other artists or composers who make a similar sound to that.
