she is a real gift to all of us. Unfortunately we could not see her live during in 60s and 70s. She is having imagination miles ahead of a male singer in all aspects of music
My beloved Guru Deivam MLV Amma. Words are never adequate to express my admiration and respects to this great doyen. Amma's music defines who I am today and I cherish every swaram she sings with such melody and class. No equal to her both in music and as a person. My pranams to her lotus feet. May she bless us all. Divine Amruthavarshini...I am just waiting for the rains to begin.
We are drenched. One could not the temptation of hearing repeatedly the Dikshidar's masterly composition rendered by Amma MLV.Her Ragam, Thanam, Pallavi, can be kept on par with Masters Madurai Mani Iyer and GNB.We should be thankful to.God that He gifted such a great artist. Simply i am in ecstasy.
Where do we get to enjoy a raaga leisurely for more than an hour these days ? Gone are those golden days. Now before we recognise the raaga, it's gone. Thanks for recreating that magic by sharing a rare gem of none other than our own MLV. God bless you & happy new year to all..
I think over commercialization and over publicization and canning of programs and frequency with which artists perform contributes to the paucity of performances like this one.
What a tanam?! I almost died of wonder. Heart became still. Bradycardia is good for health, and whenever I hear to carnatic, my heart paces slowly! India gave to the world what no one can else can even understand.
I'm still listening as I type - I'm in another world, another time, MLV is showering Amritha from the heavens - gosh, this is beyond all description - divine is a small word for it. grateful thanks, Hari.
surely this testifies the legendary stature of MLV. So sad the video is not available..... it would've been a pleasure to see her engrossed in the divine raga...
Thanks a lot for this upload. MLV has recreated the swarupa of the raga Amruthavarshini in its full splendour. Kindly upload the full concert, if available.
It is either Adi Talam - Mishra Gati (a tougher way to sing this) or an easier Tisra Triputai - 4 kalai. The mohra played at the end of the thani avarthanam, is more suggestive of Tisra triputai.
Of course this is golden. The initial patterns in alapana can be understood. However only vidwans can explain the later patterns. In the back ground it looks like Sangeetha kalanidhi, mrs Sudha raghunathans voice cheering and appreciating the sangathis. What are the Reagan's that she is singing in the end
@@rsnmridangam May we get the opportunity of enjouying the music that you listen frequently ? In simpler words, Pray that the recording you have may kinldly be uploaded or be sent to me ( 9327581503. or be e mailed to iyengar.badri@gmail.com Thanks for reading this Sankaranayananan Sir!.
The number of aksharams led me to believe it is in Tisra Triputa 4 kalai, but in the thani you can clearly hear the mishra gati in the thalam. So, it was probably in Chatusra Triputa (Adi) Mishra Gathi.
In the world of crappy fusion and all raga bhava destroyed by electric guitar and drums, this is truly a Varsha of amrutha for an old school Carnatic music lover like me
