If I recall, this was ‘89, the tail end of the era, though the song itself brought in the 1980’s. I miss those days (even if I wasn’t old enough to remember them)

I think this was later and not when the song was in the charts. I remember the backing singer was pregnant on Top of the Pops in 79. The suit reminded me of David Byrne's big suit!

He's performing a remix of the song that was released in '89, but I imagine CDs were still quite expensive then.

The first compact disc was manufactured in 1982.

@@RussianBlue15 Yes, the song was re-released in 1989 so I would guess this is him performing to the re-release. He looks a bit older here too than the 1979 video.
