There are so many convert missions Maul went on before he ever faced Qui Gon and Obi Wan, would be interesting to see that adapted as either a game or a movie...
That would be sick, but if it was in a game, I’d much rather prefer it to be a prologue, but then continue most of the game during/after clone wars, he developed quite a bit more of a character in that period
YES! It's what the Jedi games lack: the feeling of utter dominance , being able to slice through everyone and everything. Somewhat similar to what made The Force Unleashed so great to play.
@@TaurusInvicta Only force unleashed 2 had human dismemberment and it was a short cashgrab, the first game sadly did not have any, Jedi survivor is a good first step letting us remove limbs, but the perfect way would be dynamic dismemberment like kboykboy's jedi fallen order realistic saber mod, modern sw games need good dismemberment, having to go back to decade old games to get any more extreme dismemberment is not really a good argument.
The problem with them being old is exactly that. They are 20+ year old series running on dated AF Quake 3 engine and looks and plays like an absolute jank. They were great games for their time but riding JK dick for 20 years won't get you far. You have small a dedicated community that still plays it (like any other game) and it's not like people won't want something completely modern like shown in this video.

How do companies not understand? This is all we want. I don't want to have to hit somebody 12 times with a lightsaber in order to kill them 1 slash and they're done. I'd pay hella money for a game like this.
because that wouldnt be a good game. you wouldnt really have to try. unless every single enemy in the game also had a lightsaber and was capable of parrying 95% of your attacks. how do you expect to have a challenge when you just melt through every opponent?
Thank you! Picture large groups of enemies shooting at you from different directions, you have limited health but know if you can survive long enough to get close it's game over for them. Or after you beat the game they can go full Dynasty Warriors and let you wreck havoc 1 hitting regular infantry!
@@jaco1592Horde shooters exist. Look at something like Warframe, where any melee build can kill basically anything in one cut. People still play the shit outta that game.
We were going to get a game like this. Code named Damage then later revealed to be known as Maul for its working title. The game was canceled due to disneys purchase along side Battlefront 3, and 1313
@Jacolinooo not really. It was a game being developed. Had no script but the foundation and a good amount of gameplay functionality was there. It was still green lit and was going to be a full fledged game that would be a Darth Maul origin story that also tied in with the clone wars animated show some how
A one-hit one-kill model for lightsabre combat would give you the powertrip of cutting through rooms of chaff, but then make any run in with a Jedi/Sith actually tense. Like it should be when force wielders collide. Expand on it with skill trees, unlockable moves, and different fighting styles to be able to tailor-make attack patterns/combos. Give the people what they want!
I reckon they should make a game based on Vaders inquisitors, go around slicing up rebels, hunting Jedi. You should be able to customise your own inquisitor. One thing a StarWars game needs is character customisation.
One small issue: Inquisitors suck in canon. Strongest inquisitor dies in fight with 2 unknighted jedi (padawans basically🗿), then we have clown with bone mask that gets beaten by filoni's pet oc in few seconds, and so far the only compitent inquisitors are zeltron one and that goofy guy who was former jedi and was defeated by clones because chip inhibitor works however writer wanted. All inquisitors just die before Episode 4 and no one bothered to train/recruit someone to their ranks Your concept could work with Legends inquisitors, where each inquisitor was more independent and could freely wander all over the empire and hunting jedi the same way witcher hunt monsters. They were quite powerful and more interesting then "canon" ones, not to mention that strongest inquisitor - Jerec got a better live action performance than Disney's Grand Inquisitor. I really wish there was a game like that, where you could customize your inquisitor, hunt down jedi or force artifacts and help Empire to destroy rebel cells, or maybe even oulive Emperor and start local dark side cult.

@@dawesfilms You can't customise your character but you can customise thier lightsabre and force powers, also they are doing a better newer version on the switch as well. It's based on the Wii version of the game but improved and updated
How the hell is not happening already All I want is Jedi: Survivor/ Force Unleashed to be integrated; or atleast Fallen Order/Survivor with my customization I want to dress as Ben Solo god dammit
All I have to say is, thank god for the modding community. Without them we could never enjoy games the way we always wanted to, games would forever be limited by the shortcomings of developers.
@@Sharp47 I feel that man. I mean, it's not all bad since the cancellation for the Maul game is what led to us getting The Force Unleashed but I still would have loved to have seen what that could have been like.
Maybe in the future we will get one. But with Disney at the helm, I doubt we could see it's full potential. It has to be rated M and have raw visceral combat as shown in the video, to truly capture the savagery of Maul

I think the best game for him would have to be something like Alien Isolation, but obviously it would be Darth Maul as the Alien after that though a "stealth" game where your killing people for Palpatine and not leaving anyone left who could know what you are.
Star Wars could be so badass if they actually promote cool characters like Darth Maul in video games. This game would be a day one for me and the most anticipated game on my wishlist !!
He's such a cool character. When I saw him sliced in half at the end of ep1, I was a little angry and confused - why the heck?! They had a good thing going on, and then decided to cut it short 🤦
But then they did incredible character development for him in SW: Clone Wars series. It's honestly one of the best written Star Wars characters. He's a really tragic character.
@@J78KioHe sorta had a problem with that kinna thing. The prequels have like 3 villains that all just exist to die or be removed from the media. I still think they really should have cleaned that up, focusing on one villian with anakin's struggle, but... at least we got Grevious and Maul out of it. And then other creators made Maul just a crazy lil badass.
Well, in TPM he have one line and thats it, excluding novelization. What is funny is it was allowed to write his entire backstory and how he was trained, but it was prohibited to resurrect him, just like Vader. He eventually decided that he would an antagonist in Sequels trilogy and protagonist in his own tie-in game, but since he wanted Darth Talon who was around during 120+ ABY, Maul was turned into clone.

The ignited lightsaber colliding with the environment and leaving cut marks like the old Jedi academy games was fantastic, sad thing is there was almost a Darth Maul game just like this many years ago (you can find various development gameplay clips on RU-vid)
Incredible !!! But how did you make a dismemberment system like that ? Jedi Fallen Order run on Unreal Engine. I'm working on a Star Wars Fan games on Unreal Engine but I couldn't find a way to dynamically slice skeletal meshes with ragdoll. If you could tell me it would be very nice. I don't want to make a Star Wars Fan game without a lightsaber slicing everything. Including people. I know how to do for procedural meshes. Thanks

I would like to see a version of this mod with the blood volume behaving realistically. You can't cauterize wounds this big. Also, in fairness, if it cut water like this it would basically be a steam explosion on contact. Given this data realistic blasters is probably a more shocking project potential. Basically people would explode into a shower of gore and steam with a blast concussion wave from super heating. Especially if it's hot enough to fracture the water and create hydrogen and oxygen as a result :)
idk why current era star wars games are so afraid to let us play as any of the characters from the movies. i have nothing against getting new protagonists but i'd like to get games about the characters we already know and love
Looks awesome, although I fear it could be too easy if you can just slice everything in your path. Unless it was more "hardcore" style where if you get hit once or twice by blaster fire you're toast. Maybe add a stealth element, a la Sekiro?

Even a game with Maul after Sidious disowned him would be great…fighting for power in the criminal underworld, taking out syndicates with your mandalorian commandos..this game would have a lot of potential. Has to be rated M though

This 3-minute concept video was more entertaining than the entire Sequel Trilogy. It's VERY rare that I'll spend full AAA price for any game but I'd jump at the chance to play something like this regardless of price.
I would, but I fear that making Maul the protagonist would push devs into making some pretty out of character "good guy moments" for him. It's very hard, not to say impossible to make audiences support and empathize with a completely evil and ruthless protagonist, so writers give said characters those "pet the dog" moments to try and avert that.
Now this is a star wars game. Maul is the most underrated character of the star wars universe and this goes to show how amazing this kind of game could be. Anyway we can start a rally to get a company to make this game dont care if it takes them 4 years to make the game actually playable and a decent story. Pleassssssssse make this happen!!!
I've been saying it for 20 years now: all I want is a brutal, visceral, intense Darth Maul game with a story and polish as good as Jedi Survivor and a fighting engine as good as Ninja Gaiden 2. Something for adults that's full of action and mystery and devoid of romance, cuteness or comedy. That's my dream game. I think I'm not the only one who wants a game like that.
A story mode of Maul's criminal empire vs Palpatine's empire, as Maul trues to train a new apprentice while reflecting on the past tgat made him who he is.
