You can think of all kinds of gundam games when thinking of the early 2000's. But did you know about this obscure RPG title that flew under the radar? Check out what I have to say about M.S. Saga: A New Dawn
There is a surprising amount of RPGs for the PS2. I'm quite literally going through the PS2 library at the moment to see what games there are. I'd say there are more RPG games on the ps2 than any other genre. I figured stuff like this game would be buried fairly easy, so no wonder you didn't know.
A few corrections: -You're not wrong that it takes place after the UC era, but since there are Wing and G Gundam mobile suits it's safe to say it doesn't take place right after the UC timeline. This does mean however that it has taken the Turn A route and that all the series take place in the same timeline. But since Turn A and X weren't in the game, that could mean that this game takes place before X and Turn A. (Mind potentially blown?) -Tristan and Fritz didn't steal the GM from a base. It was a G System they used to create it and someone from the Dark Alliance was investigating the location. -Techniques actually do take away from the EN gauge; 1 EN per technique. -The Unicorns aren't always the people you go to. Eisengarde and the Unicorns are allies but not the same group of people. As you can tell, I played the game (multiple times in fact) XD Still have it after all these years. Was once offered 200$ for it, but kept it due to being a collector myself XD
Hey I appreciate getting corrected and this was VERY new to me. I was unsure if it was using the meter system. And as far as placement goes, I'd definitely consider this maybe a what if or some kind of alternate telling. I guess maybe saying steal was a bit much, but I wasnt sure if it belonged to them or not. Still all this is pretty helpful and I may of failed to write some notes down here and there! but you were very polite in your corrections and RU-vid could always use more of that!
@@PragmatikReviews Glad to help. Notes are definitely something to take when playing/watching something for a review. You may miss something or forget details. Another thing to do is research as much as possible before writing your scripts, whether it be via wiki sites or RU-vid videos. That way you may have something very interesting to tell, remember something, see something you missed, prevent yourself from making an error, or have a funny bit to write about. (Example: "There are weapons from Victory and F91, but none of the mobile suits. Were the series that bad and traumatizing that they didn't put them in?" *Proceeds to have Vietnam flashbacks to death scenes of Victory characters* "Nah. They probably didn't have the space or time to implement them.")
I had so much fun with this. I got to build a Dom with the heaviest Beam Weapon I could find, which was my protagonist's suit of choice because the DOm is my favorite One Year War Mobile SUit.
I recall reading about this game back in the day, but I never saw a copy for sale. I think I would've liked it back then. It kinda reminds me of Seek and Destroy for PS2...
After playing fallout 3 again I wish they.made a gundam rpg set in a post colony drop style catastrophe. If they gave the freedom to play out a campaign that lets you go either earth side or colony side or space pirate or freelance roaming merc that would be awesome.
I WISH Bandai and whoever else would put that much effort into a game like that. Kinda surprising they haven't put something akin to a new RPG out lately. We can hope!
