What a brilliant video, I absolutely love these guys . I was involved in the Motoring News Rally Championships from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s , building, repairing and servicing cars for a few private teams . I was lucky enough to be at last years Historic Rally festival at Weston Park and see Howard presenting the event , Howard and Malcolm have still got the Rally clubmans down to earth attitude and sense of humour . And the all important knowledge! Good luck for the future guys 👍
Brilliant interview. Hat's off to Malcom Wilson and the team up there. I remember being part of a support crew for my mate in a Mk ! Escort RS 1600 on a rally in Cumbria that used Grizedale and Malcom Wilson was No 1 car. That was back in the late 70's i think so he's dead right about it being his life. He was a talented driver then. His loyalty to Ford has been quite remarkable and with their help he has pulled together a very professional organisation. Been through tough times this last couple of years with the impacts of covid but hopefully things will turn around now and maybe the car can deliver another world championship.
Great work. The interview of a real enthusiast. Thank you MW for allowing Howard in to ask these questions and congratulations on a marvelous Monte win.
Realy Enjoyed This,I had a Look Around this Workshop When Colin McRae Was in the Focus and His Car Was Sat in There,It Was a Memory i will Never Forget. Nice Place to Work if You are able to get a Job there.
Malcolm Wilson could give maintenance classes to the RAF and Royal Navy how to look after hi-tech aircraft. Especially RN after that basic whoopsie last November with one of their F35's on deck... That workshop - WOW! Even the vices looked impressive.
I’ll never forget it Motoring News the back of there was a fella selling rallying spares and there was a mk1 escort shell ex Big Malc BRM730K it was and my uncle says don’t buy it the thing will be nackered 🤣 I don’t listen no more 💥
they've managed to bring boring F1 technical aspects into rallying to make it even closer to the playstation...... poor old col would be turning in his grave "if in doubt you don't want your battery pack to run out" hasn't the same ring to it
