feel like he's always rushing and the whole was trying to catching up.
@nimeshsingh4943
@nimeshsingh4943 6 лет назад
Definitely agree- he starts rushing at the end in the legato sections at the end (and mostly holds up). This is impressive until the tongued scales come in and it exposes him more when he can't keep up the speed so the notes don't articulate. Shouldn't have tried to show off in the easy parts.

Timing has always been a difficulty with wind (and sometimes brass) players...... Often, they try to compensate by "playing early"..... This is not the only example of this, but maybe one of the clearer examples of this. That said, it still was a fine performance overall.

It's amusing to observe the reactions of the legion of Bean-Counters to a real musician like Wenzel Fuchs. Unlike the Bean-Counters, who only know how to mechanically tabulate every inconsequential imperfection, Wenzel is a genuine MUSICIAN, willing to take risks in order to communicate the living spirit of Weber's music; music which lives on the edge, and which requires risks to be taken in order to have its true character revealed. Bravo, Wenzel, for a brilliant performance

Spot on. You have to remember this is LIVE PERFORMANCE. If you want to hear all the right notes in the right order and no element of risk or joy, input the notes into Sibelius. I’m sure all you armchair critics will be thrilled with the results!

This is a wonderful performance despite a technical flaw or two. Such a wonderfully vibrant and centered sound from both the soloist and orchestra. A great dynamic palette and sense of line. Bravo!

Besides what Chen Liu and whoitisnot mentione above, there are: 3:38 rushing; 3:51 - 4:00 unstable tempo (due to breathing instead of emotion on purpose); 7:10 tonguing; 7:20 tonguing; 7:29 tonguing; 7:43 tempo and off-key. I'm not being picky, just trying to be objective. After all it's great performance!
