Master Mohashoy, a highly dedicated school teacher who, frustrated with life, wanted to commit suicide when someone directed him to Sri Ramakrishna. Master Mohashoy remained the steadfast disciple, writing down whatever the Guru said. His writings are now famous as Kathamrita.
Priyaji, 'M' is the pen name of the person who wrote the biography of Sri Ramakrishna, Mahindra Nath Guptha, the best and most comprehensive work on Sri Ramakrishn called 'The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna.' Book published by Ramakrishna Mission, available in Amazon
I am soaked in Sri Ramana Maharshi but I find some of these monks in the Sri Ramakrishna tradition - like Swami Sarvapriyananda - to be very impressive 🙏🕉️.
@@mikefromromeit Same truth ,wise ones explained differently. One should follow that ,which suits his temperament. Infinite is the way to Supreme Brahman, but one should approach Him through one path of his likings ,otherwise ,that will be messy.
Raman Maharshi also says only one consiousnesss is there and this world is appearing taking different names and forms. Consiousnesss is a Movie screen and this world is like a movie. And Advaitha Vedanta and Sarvapriyananda Says the same thing only one Reality Brahman appearing as many forms.
Whenever in turmoil, I take refuge in the gospel. It gives me so much of peace. Indeed, M was blessed and has given a beautiful gift to the generations to come in the form of this account of his encounters with Sri Ramakrishna. He documented something that's beyond the perception of man, and yet he sprinkled magic on every page! These conversations are priceless! Jai ho!!
Swami Sarvapriyananda ji is so good with anecdotes ! Please more shorts of him . RU-vid should be stormed with Sarvapriyananda Ji Shorts. I wish to volunteer if need be :)

The renunciation of self identifying experience is the begining of a new life the spiritual life When the mind is cleared of its content there is no longer any feeling of separateness or of life
I am struggling to find the gold and peace in all these ornaments especially when some of these ornaments are stabbing me in the face in this world, but I now see this is level 2. I need to reach level 1 first - (Samadhi/realisation of brahman/truth/purity of heart/grace). I think we don't realise we won't see the Gold (God) in all this until we transcend the false ego sincerely.
True renunciation is not a single dramatic act it is daily wipping away of the thought which are of the world the little desires to dissemble the unkind impulses the small attachments the recalling remembrance of pleasure and so forth
Maharaj ji, Pranaam thank you so much for all your lectures. Would like to listen on Sanatan Dharma from you. Can you please have a lecture for that? Thank you. Pranaam 🙏
Swami, is it wrong to have desires for things and objects, name and some fame? How does one *sincerely* drop these? Does it come from oneself or from grace? I am at a point of some confusion as to what I should be doing with my life
Knock the door & it will be opened . The sincere knocking is that what requires, but who knocks sincerely! Sri Ramakrishna said ,all can shed plenty of tears for their own children ,but how many shed tears for God ??
Namaste. While it is absolutely true that no-one can rightfully claim to know what you should be doing with 'your' life, a certain level of intellectual clarity regarding who we are can clear a lot of confusion. Thought is dualistic in nature. So any attempt to grasp our real nature through the mind is bound to fail as our real nature is SatChitAnanda or Absolute Existence, Absolute Awareness, Absolute Bliss. In spite of this, the mind continues its attempt which we call desire. Due to whatever reason, ignorance or Maya or anything you may call it doesn't matter, I get identified as a person seperate from the rest of the universe and with that feels a tremendous sense a lack within. The real nature within is constantly telling us that we are free and whole and perfect, and so my mind tries to get rid of the lack by attempting to fulfill the desires. However, since the lack was caused by delusion, no amount of fulfilling desires can remove that lack. Now you'll not ask if it's wrong to have desires, name and fame etc etc. Regarding grace, your very attempt to find out as to what should be doing in life is itself the first glimpse of grace. How few even think about these fundamental questions? Regarding satisfying desires, Sri Ramakrishna says one may fulfil simple desires concerning food etc. But deeper samsakaras are created by fulfilling lust, i.e. and attachment to our bodily identity becomes stronger. So if possible, try to refrain from that sort of desires and divert that energy towards self realisation. Should you choose to ignore the inner call for freedom and plunge headlong into enjoyments and name and fame, you may get some temporary fulfilment and enjoy/suffer birth and death for a billion years to come but ultimately, at some point you'll have to return to this enquiry and be free. It's your very nature to be independent and free, so nothing short of that can fulfill you. So if you feel the need to be a person and fulfill desires, nothing wrong with that as long as you're ready to accept the consequences. Running away from pain and pursuing pleasure, is the primordial ignorance in action. Once you fully see through that trick of nature, and accept it all or reject it all, you are free that very moment. One more thing, other's insights can inspire you but the wisdom that arises from within alone can transform you. That alone is your own! All the very best, Swami Jnanishananda
@@ImmortalBliss Thank you all and thank you to Swami Jnanishananda for this comprehensive reply. The pleasures and desires of before are becoming more and more meaningless. It is a hard period as there is a part which wants to enjoy as before but the happiness of these pursuits are disappearing all the while I am looking for something tangible on the spiritual journey as "proof" that this is real. I will persevere... I don't think I have a choice. All the best to you all on the journey ✨
@@oln3678 Be like Child, When you're born in your childhood you were just witnessing the world with curiosity. You're not behind any desires right. Be Childlike.
It has become possible to experience Samadhi while leading a Householders life with all cares and responsibilities, through Heartfulness meditation. No need to go through extreme penance. Try and find out. No fees.
Practice what you wish to be your nature. Practicing indulgence leads to wanting and being indulgent for longer periods of time, thus anxiety 🙃 appears again and again.
It's quite tempting intellectually to come to such a conclusion but only when we assume that if he saw Sri Ramakrishna in that Sadhak his behaviour would be in a way particularly different from what he actually did. There's a saying if God comes in the form of a straydog He better get ready to get kicked as well(at least in India).
Around 22.00 M ask Sri Ramakrishna about Aham Brahmasmi or nondual truth Realisation and Sri Ramakrishna said it is very difficult even for ascetics...why then is Sri Sarvapriyananda teaching Advaita to all just like that and even highly advanced Brahm Vidya like Ashtavakra Gita
Mahendranath Gupta was a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He recorded in his diary, interactions he had with his Guru. He published his diary notings to the world as a book, titled " Ramakrishna Kathamritha ". Translated into English as " Gospel of Ramakeishna Paramahamsa ". He Published this book under the name "M", as he had no desire of name o Fame for himself.
Since the total energy content of the universe is a constant ( it cannot be reduced or increased), what is happening everywhere is transformation of energy form one form to another. If we call this energy as Brahman, then everything is Brahman (energy).
By this logic, the ME in me is the same ME in you and the YOU in you is the same YOU in me... 🤦🏽♂️ Why abuse someone when you don't have the ability to understand them... Thank you for a great explanation
I have a doubt. You have said here as it is said in Advaita - 'Brahma satya' - 'Gold is real as well as the different ornaments made out of it. In that case, why the world is described as 'unreal'- 'Jagan 'Mithya'. When everything is Brahman, this world is also Brahman - Real or Sathya - and anything Brahman cannot be 'unreal' or 'Mithya'.
What it means is that we often miss to pay attention to the gold when we get caught up in the necklace or ring (ie, we miss to observe the Divinity pervading in the names and forms of the world). So live in the world as if the world is also God, but don't get caught up in it so much that you fail to see the Divinity pervading it. This is my limited understanding. Jai Gurudev
So the entire philosophy the science what we call religion is really just one religion? Told in different way ? No difference between Yahweh or Brahman or Allah ? Lucifer?
