While all M1 Caliber Measuring Tools come with a factory calibration, an onsite calibration is recommended when first receiving the M1 to ensure the most accurate cuts possible are made that match a specific tape measure. Tape measures may vary based on manufacturer and class rating making it essential that a calibration is performed to match specific tape measure blade printing. The following procedure allows the M1 to accurately convert rotary motion of the wheel to linear measurements that exactly match a specific tape measure.
The above video will walk you through the steps necessary to perform a calibration on your M1 tool.
For a written description of all of the above steps, please visit our calibration support article here:

I just opened my unit up and tried to get it up & running based on the instructions. I must say the instructions for set up need some work, as they are not very clear to Calibrate the tool. From the video I now have a better understanding of how to make the Calibration. It is now clear to me that the unit I have, I can now do a proper set up. Thanks for the YT info.

Helpful video, thanks. My kneejerk reaction to getting it set up is also that the quick start guide is not incredibly intuitive. In particular the "hold the first two buttons and click the 3rd while not letting go of the other two" bit was aggravating
@NixPix87
@NixPix87 2 года назад
Mine never goes into calibration mode. You press the first two together and click the third as instructed and all it does is go to 00 but not ZERO. so as soon as I slide the piece down it starts measuring. So far I’ve just lost an hour and gained frustration.

2 meter are 2000 mm not 200 (would be cm) - metric system is simple, just get used to the unit prefixes: milli = 1/1000

Unfortunately I had to return mine today to Lowes. I only have 60" to the right of my saw blade and can't move my saw table without an incredible effort as it's custom made. Hopefully a newer revision will come out that doesn't require 6' of distance from the blade to calibrate. Thank you.

Yea now after that how do u keep it ready to cut? After I calibrate I lift arm up to remove the material and go back to feeding it for my first cut and I get it to the saw blade and it saws 6in
@REEKONTools
@REEKONTools 2 года назад
Once you touch the saw blade you should zero the M1 indicating a new cut is being made and then slide to your cut position. You should also be sure that your blade offset is accounted for as well.

Just to clarify, once it is initially calibrated I can remove when not using without having to re-calibrate?
@shrimpinpat

I’d imagine no because it would be in a different spot and thus distance from the blade? I don’t own it and couldn’t tell you if I was right.

Why when I press the two left button doesn’t calibrate
@corpjesters
@corpjesters 2 года назад
Agree that the written guide is muddled and difficult to get a clear and basic 1,2,3 setup for calibration. Mine keeps saying ⅛” when I zero the unit after calibration. I have no idea what’s going on, and it’s WAY off accurate by as much as a 1/16” with every cut. It’s driving me nuts.

Hey Jacob, are you starting with the device powered off? Also, are you holding the zero and units button firmly and then only clicking the power button once, then releasing (while holding the other two)?

It’s too bad the M1 doesn’t have a function that allows you, after zeroing to the left side of the blade, to simply move the workpiece to the right side of the blade and hit the blade button to calibrate for blade thickness. Seems a little clunky to have to input it numerically. Especially if it’s an old blade and you don’t own callipers to measure it accurately. Also it was only after watching this video that I could figure out how to enter the calibration mode. The written instructions leave a lot to be desired.
@REEKONTools
@REEKONTools 2 года назад
Hey Karl, thanks for the feedback. We are always looking to improve our product features and directions that come with it. While we did consider that method for the blade offset, we found it generally less accurate than measuring the blade separately, even if only using a tape measure. Glad you were able to get things figured out and feel free to send us an email if you have any other issues - contact@reekon.tools

Next time have somebody who speaks in a clear voice and not monotone. It's not easy to hear somebody like this on a job site that's noisy when you don't have your directions handy. Also this method DOES NOT make up for blade width... its always an 1/8th shy. get your water checked for lead...

@1927Scavengers
@1927Scavengers Год назад
I have a rigid mitre saw. The fence is higher on the one side. Where it’s reekon attaches. So with that you can’t slide a thin piece to cut cause the measuring wheel sits about and inch and a half above the deck.
