This video worked for me getting mine back together. I have an old beat up Garand I got and took apart a couple years ago. A co-worker wants to borrow it now for his kid's presentation on historic military firearms.
Lady Vet here. I have a BIG thanks for you. I am on the DAV Honor Guard and the Garand is the rifle we use. #4 Garand misfired and I had never taken one apart. Through your tutorial, and some oiling/cleaning, I have her back on duty, no misfire!
The way you put those three little pieces back into the receiver was perfect. I watched another video where the guy puts the op rod latch in first then the bullet guard and it was a fucking pain in the ass. The way you did it was so simple it took me like 20 seconds.
@@GunsStuff yeah. I found out it’s because of the crappy repo stock. There’s clear wear lines all over the outer face of the op rod, and the inner face of the op rod where it rides against the barrel is as shiny as the chrome on a bumper of a 50s car… the second you take it out of the stock the action is nice and smooth… USGI stock and a new op rod is on the way
Or you could look up the part names. He's not a fucking firearms instructor, he's a hobbyist showing you how to reassemble a rifle. If you want a lesson on part names, use Google.
@@DeimosPC What a rude reply - the instructor would be much more effective if he taught the nomenclature as well as the disassembly & reassembly at the same time. Not just "this little thing goes here" kind of instruction. And YES, he is intending to be a firearms instructor!
