Video gives people maybe a wrong impression. The air has the m1 in it, it will last, from a processing standpoint, for many many years. The m chips are absolute overkill for an tablet, which is good as they are efficient.

I have the iPad Air 5, and the 10. The Air is more powerful, but the scrolling is really juddery compared to the 10, which makes no sense at all. Both are updated to the latest iPad OS.

I'm currently thinking of which iPad I should get next. I mostly use one for media consumption, light web browsing and social media. I'm not a student, and I don't draw. Do I get a base iPad 10, or an iPad Air 5 for better internals and longer update support?

Maybe not. Just got one 2 days ago! Its back panel feel solid now. But wait until next month if you do not have urgent need. The price might drop a bit after the new models release.
