ProMotion makes the note taking experience buttery smooth and that alone makes it worth it for me. If I never used a ProMotion display, I would have gotten from the iPad Air from the 2018 iPP. I have turned off ProMotion on the iPP and it’s just … there’s a clear difference.

Does IPad 2021 supports MS Office like word, PowerPoint and most important Excel ? I have heard that they don’t provide all the features of MS Office which we get in Windows Computers.

which storage option is the best? 128 gb or 256?

Oh yeah - they have a ton of options that are really solid

For my iPad I had 2 different keyboards… A keyboard that would attach to my case (for school) & a keyboard that was used separately (for my desk) .. as a student I would recommend getting a keyboard case for writing essays but if you don’t like using keyboards since you’re trying to replace a laptop I would definitely recommend an apple pen since you can use your iPad as a notebook which is what I would use for school when I forgot to attach keyboard case on

I traded in my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 for 2021 M1 version , I felt stupid. There is no difference for just using it for school. And it is too bright which hurt my eyes and brain.

I'm an incoming college student this year. Based from my experience, iPads are capable for schools works. I survived the online class of my whole senior high school year using only an iPad Air 2. With the iPad Air 2, there's still no desktop class safari there, but I survived. I used it for Gsuites, Ms Office, Canvas LMS, etc. Now with the new additions in the iPad Air 4 and iPad Pro, I think that you will be able to handle it more than I did. Of course, it won't be like a pc. That's why know what you will use it for. As for me, the reason why I survived with no pc is because I know that iPad can give me what I need. Weight your needs and check if iPad can give you that or not. Hope this helps 😊

Go to the App Store. It’s a rough $100-$150 a year I think. Don’t quote me on that. If she’s in middle school the iPad will be fine and should do everything she needs to do.

Hi sir! I am a student as well, and I've been a full time iPad user for 3 years now. If you wanted to access MS 365, you can search it in safari just like how you do it in pc. You can log in there and do your work. As for the Ms office apps, it's all in the App Store. You just need to create an iCloud account and log in. After doing so, you are now capable of downloading different apps there. As for the subscription in 365, I'm not so sure since it depends in every country. It does have a free version which is what I am using now.

For using it as a laptop 12.9 might be good. But I prefer the more portable 11 for most of my usage

Should just get the MacBook Air

If you have a laptop, 11" is great companion of the laptop

I have the 12.9 M1 Pro and I feel like the size would be distracting in a class room setting. The 11 inch will be much better for a "quick take it with you device" but the 12.9 will serve you better for longer typing sessions if you have to write a multiple page paper or really lock down and get some heavier work done.

The iPad obviously has the benefit of handwritten notes with Apple Pencil, but otherwise yes.

For me, yes. I survived my online class during my senior high school years using only an IPad Air 2. I used it for Canvas LMS, G suites, Ms office, etc. Despite being an older model, having only a mobile class safari, I still survived and did pretty well at school. What more if it's the newer iPads of today? It will be more assuring because it gives you the desktop class safari and other newer fewers. If you really wanted an iPad, it's very recommendable. I do have a tip for u. Weigh your needs. Ask yourself if iPad will be enough with what you will do. As for me, it does. Not only do I use it for studying, but I use it for my artworks too. If you are doing stuff in the web browser or taking notes, editing documents and presentations, etc. you will be fine. If you are a computer science major and need to code, you will need a computer.

There’s some apps on mobile that’s not up at its full potential compared to the apps on the MacBook. I don’t even think the iPad Pro has lockdown browsers to take tests 🥶

I can say that it's based on what you will use it for. As for me, I am a full time iPad user. My model is older tho. But with the new iPads from 2020-2021, I can say that it can really be comparable to the laptops of today. One thing that I do think the iPad is good for is its security and speed. Mostly, laptop slows down after 3-4 years. But with iPad, it age slowly. Of course it still depends of how careful you will use it. iPad is not so sensitive with external accessories. Here in my country, I follow a page for MacBook users, and they are mostly complaining about the bricking issue up to this day. Both has pros and cons. Weight your needs and check which will provide you the most.
