I hope when they do the signage it will be clear enough so the non locals can understand them not like what they do now, signs that only the locals can understand. Keep in mind ,traffic travelling at 80 to 100 klm per hour don`t have much time to read and understand signs. A situation many people here have possibly experienced already.
Apparently it's going to be a aboriginal Inspired statue the way it was explained it will be fantastic it will have spot lights on it so everyone will see it from Kilometres away so better than a boring sign i think
Great clip, showing high detail of the M12 and its A9 and airport interconnections. I was intrigued by the circular ground feature just around the middle of the interchange, visible at 2:30 and again at 7:50/54. It doesn't appear on the airport site plans. However, I did a bit of digging and found likely references to it in Transport for NSW M12 Motorway, Aboriginal Cultural Elements, and in a UniNSW Centre for Interactive Cinema document, who are involved in developing it. It appears to be an epic piece of automated performance art inspired by aboriginal story telling, depicting the Great Emu of the Sky (star constellation) who shook water from its feathers to create the Milky Way. It takes the form of a 40m sphere, with three dimensional internal connections inside it, each symbolic of local features and flora. By lighting up various components it creates images of the Great Emu and seasonal forms, such that they are visible from specific angles from passing traffic and air travellers. I suspect it is a project with certain risks, but if they can pull it off (and given our propensity to create great light shows, that may be likely) it could be something quite unique and memorable.
