Happy Monday! Today we will be demoing the M18 Cable Stripper from Milwaukee Tools. This is the copper set! You can also order the aluminum set depending on wire you usually use! This tool is a game changer if you’re frequently stripping wire 1/0 or higher ESPECIALLY in the cold weather. Anyone in the cold knows how hard stripping wire can be! Here’s the link for the tool as well as the copper and aluminum bushing attachments! Up next for tool reviews are the HILTI BX3 & the MILWAUKEE DIGITAL TORQUE WRENCH & the GREENLEE VERSI TUGGER!! Stay tuned!!!

Its good you work for a company that allows these type of quality of life tool expenses. Our hands are irreplaceable and anything that reduces the wear and tear on them is worth it.

They make these for both AL and CU wires. I think you maky be using the AL on the copper wire and that is why it leaves the small piece on the wire that you are having to reverse. Our is the CU type and it works like when you did the AL and the 500 CU wire. It strips down so you don't have to reverse it, the wire just comes out the side. We love our stripper and will probably buy another one as a spare. Thanks for posting and I enjoy the videos Lexi.

The cool thing about this tool is that it leaves the waste insulation on the cable. This lets you strip a bunch of cables and carry them up a ladder or something and then remove the waste part, preventing the ends from fraying/getting damaged in transport. Great review Lexi!

A knife nick on a wire strand will have you redoing them with some inspectors. Some counties dont have enough budget and rely on state electrical inspectors. He looked at a panel i did with bifocals. Commented I was the only one who didnt need to redo them today due to knife nicks. With the price of wire might be worthwhile.

The industrial LNG plant im on requires us to use these or something like it. While I agree with you there are practical applications. And as an electrical inspector I’d rather see an inexperienced person use this than butcher strands on a low voltage cable.
@marsabar19

If you have a set you have to strip back to back, this will be convenient for that application. That might be the main reason and or designs idea for this product. And yeah with skill makes speed.

It's a 4oz knife that does the job in a few seconds, vs another 20lbs case and tool to carry around, it's not worth it considering the speed takes 10x longer than just using a knife.
