Just a heads up.. running that cable up against the flange on that pipe when you seperate the trap will wear into the plastic and cut a groove into it.. good luck getting that trap to seal up after you do that. I usually have a piece of 1 Inch pex tubing about 6 inches long that i can feed the head of the cable through to protect the trap flange in a situation like this

I have used it twice - renting it from Home Depot both times and it has cleared the drain in a blink both times at an extremely small fraction of what a plumber would have charged

This machine sync the drum rotating direction to the extend and retract direction? I see other drain cleaners usually separate them.

I have rentals and tried this tool yesterday, I have back to back sinks with old galvanized drains pipes Just could not get past the T in the wall, used my hand held manual with a drop head snake and was able to break through. I read the instructions and I see you can replace the cable with a 3/8 cable that one I have does have a drop head on it. Question why would the one bulb head not work do I always need to use a drop head with back to back sinks? Also I could not tell if the cable was going in, are there markers that can be added to see if the cable is advancing?

Only problem i have with the snakes is the reverse... u never want to put it in reverse when u may have something on the end of the bulb head itll just come off and clog the line again....

You can unlock it, pull and manually feed the snake back in without pressing the trigger, that will drag back whatever is caught

It seems like it runs on for too long after you retract the cable. What if you’re running straight cable with no head? Will it get pulled all the way back into the drum? If so how hard is it to get it back out?

You want to have both hands on the cable if your trying to fish a tee or get though bad spots in the drain this is olny really good for straight tees

Help! I can not figure out how to change the cable, ours snapped and there is no place to hook it and only fictions with the new cable about 15’ and won’t go in or back out without manually doing it. Zero instruction anywhere

have you ever seen a drain snake that wasn't rusty after a year? I wonder how the tool would work with a rusty or dirty snake. Look like it works ok now, but let's see how it works after a couple months of real world clogs.

Hahaha! Well I have good news! I'm here because I recently purchased only the long 5/16 metal coiled "SNAKE" thinking I could easily connect it to my Milwaukee M18 Cordless Drill. Theoretically, everything worked fine but I sure did look "stupid", I mean _out of place_ standing halfway across my apartment room away from the kitchen sink turning & rotating shlit. _If I only had a _*_Trophy_*_ _*_Wife_*_ ._ Wait wait, I'm sorry, back to you. The small print on my Wilwauke SNAKE Package claims it uses *RUST* *GUARD* *Plating!!* Yippie Yippey Yeh!! Now I wanna know how to keep it clean. After my last (and hopefully still last) Kitchen Sink Clog Drain operation, I dropped that dirty (smelly) snake in a big plastic 99cent store bucket of vinegar, dishwashing liquid, ajax, i.e. whatever and went back to watching RU-vid for a few more hours. Came back, with some rubber gloves on, and easily wiped off crud then hung my SNAKE back up in the Utility Closet. *GOOD* *LUCK* to you My Man!

Plumber do not buy this tool!! Consumer once in awhile use then buy it, things i hate about this, that black round twist to tighten and loosen cable, no good! No power, once u use it and put back in case next time u use it there mold on it, cut a hole in box, gota use 3/8 cable to use your drop head or spade, cable get stuck in hard clog might as well stop and pull your cable back, it won’t come back, cuz no power, drum has nothing to hold cable , cable is literally thrown inside, its a waste of money, basically paid $700 for a 5.0 battery, this tool only good for 1.5in and 2in pipe, 3in that’s a laugh, glad i got my spartan 100 and 300, never let me down yet
