I just tried out the LMG and MG last night in a match and it pretty quickly became one of my favorite class of weapons. Great control and the larger clip size is fantastic

If you wanna use this gun proper, you need to put a suppressor on it. long or short just depends on your preference, but this is a gun where once you find a nice spot to shoot people from, you want to make sure that half the map doesn't know where you are the moment you start firing.

It is the ultimate one-man army weapon. It can wipe entire squads by itself. Flanking from confusing angles and elevations, pivoting to new positions after every few interactions, and letting squadmates spawn on you are light work for the LMG. I have no other choice if I want to spawnkill or go deep behind enemy lines.

I swap in and out the suppressor depending on the map, sometimes even based on where I spawn The benefits are very nice, but the increased recoil is not

with over 1k kills now and 1.6k in playtest on it I got my two bits for it with that long ads time, it helps me starting to fire while going into the scope if I get caught with my pants down, otherwise scope in first and then peek a corner - hip fire spray'n'pray is also pretty viable on very short distances. usually I use either the strikefire or h s401 scope, the se-5 grip and the long suppressor. with all that bullets you can fire, you'll look like the sky on 4th of july if you dont do anything against the muzzleflash and after testing around, I feel like, I get surprised less often from enemies knowing my position bipod gameplay is very fun too, just a whole different playstyle. you have to be way more cautious about when and where to move. get used to throw yourself on the ground and stay in the scope if you only need to move a little (remember bipod boni only apply, when stationary) but holding down a hallway haven't felt that satisfying since bf3 rush metro

If you had to pick a side rail option? I am torn between laser and rangefinder, depending on scope and bipod. Laser lets you hipfire more reliably, but you have to toggle it consciously.

I've been an LMG main for most of my 40 hours on battlebit, and that first setup is essentially what I came to save for the optic (I'm a sucker for holo sights). Minimizing recoil and making it a lazer is what makes this weapon so good.

Honestly bipod isn’t so bad for defend / capture game modes. I do agree the bipod needs some love with the recoil but it’s doable. You can really lock down a position.

I've been using it to great success especially since you can instantly deploy sandbags as a support. It's just the right height to take the bipod and if you know where the enemy is coming from you can lay prone or post up and let loose. Throw down ammo boxes and you can single handedly stop people from pushing a narrow area.

i cant express the amount of just pure fun i've had just spraying into hordes of enemies when they all try to simultaneously push the same one corner or doorway or something that I'm watching over with this gun. You can just hold left click and if people run into your rain of bullets while they do that you can easily pick up 5+ kills. Also grenade spamming with Support has been a joy to behold. Loving the support class and really loving this gun!

A note on the bipod: Using this weapon or any LMG with a long range scope and bipod gives you the capability to out-shoot snipers and while it doesnt get 1-shot kills, it can brutally interrupt entire sniper nests with semiauto fire. It causes bleeding really easily and that can turn things around when your team is being farmed by snipers. It is also possible to do this without a bipod, but your ability to stay on target while zoomed way in is much riskier.

I've been running the urk and the short supressor to great effect recently. The urk handle recoil well and speeds up the reload a bit, and the short suppressor doesn't ruin your stats but lets you shoot longer bursts without making yourself a target. Really helps when just holding down the trigger and going after a whole squad.

Ive had alot of sucess with this gun using the long barrel attachment and the vertical grip. I appreciate the extra velocity and range it gives. Great vid!

It's my most played gun. What you said about practicing restraint even with the hudge mag makes total sense. It's how I prefer to play it. Long angles a trusty ACOG and tap shoot at anything that moves. If your well positioned and your aim's dialed in, you get some amazing killstreaks!!

Bipod are the best. i have run it with the bipod since last week because i just love the idea of stationary turret. However at the start of the round i'll pick a spot that is just around the action outside of point. Destroying 10-20%of cover toward the main action as engineer to let you see movement but also don't discouraged enermy from approching. And after some fun rocket spamming, i just build a corner angle fortress with back and side cover with multiple angle basically needed at least 3 big hesco wall but always good to have bigger. Also i did a couple of time create some wall to lead enermy to follow a certain part to cover and it paid off hugely. But you definitely need certain mindset to enjoy this play style. A mischievous giggle is required as you foreseeing the enermy path and build angle and wall. If you build it right you should not be vulnerable from any side unless you are overrun or you start to gain too much attention by the enermy team.

As a support, I live this gun! The problem is suppression just sucks in game, it barely works. You gotta be shot some 50 times in a short span to start feeling the effects. Regarding attachments, I'm using a long barrel, laser for hipfire, and cant remember the underbarrel one. BIPOD just seemed bad, even when it was deployed.

the lmgs can also be used quite well with suppressors. no muzzle flash and far less sound makes it much harder for enemies to notice where you fire from.

I love playing support roles, admittedly because I love all the bullets. Always think that support roles don't get any XP or love for suppression, which is a real shame as it can be a key part of the role & team tactic. It's seems to generally be all about hits and kills, which just makes it harder to progress in a support role (in my opinion). Great to see that BB has taken a slightly different approach with support. Hadn't thought of approaching the role/weapon in the way you said. Great video & you have a +1 sub :-)

Might want to check out Squad and the infantry rework they've been doing :) It's becoming pretty much the only game with useful suppression mechanics soon. It's their number 1 goal right now.

Been loving the Battlebit content! Hope the growth continues and would love to see a video on DMR’s. Listen I know they are bad comparatively to Snipers or even single fire AR’s, but I honestly prefer the MK20 and it would be great to see a video showcasing when or how to make them worth running.

the M110 is also great. Fewer rounds in a mag but the bullets hit harder. I personally always prefer DRM's over snipers for some reason

in my experience it works best as a mobile turret. Move with the squad, smoke your area of engagement, build cover for the medics and suppress snipers with the semi auto fire rate and mow down enemies close range. Then wait and cover your team as they push forward and continue to fire on the area of engagement until you need to reload. Then drop ammo and restock, and repeat. Makes for a very strong push

That hundred round mag is baller. Take a lane, pour fire down it, get 3-5 kills. Be happy. Does a number on light vehicles too. Got a 4 kill shootdown on a Blackhawk yesterday.

With a bipod it becomes a supression monster. Get on the ground and starts shooting a laser-beam of 100 rounds and see if someone dares poke around a corner. During that time, your squad moves up or flank and one stays with you to cover your flanks and back just in case. After a while, stop shooting for 1sec, enemy will probably think you're out or moving, start shooting again, most of the time someone pokes his head into your stream of bullets. Obviously works better in buildings and chokepoints, not so much in the open, so it is map dependant (or at least chose wisely where you spawn and fight).

6:50 what i usually do is go for the tac reload and pickup the magazine WHILE reloading. obviously it's best to go for this only if you don't intend on moving from your spot while reloading.

I have been appreciating your weapon reviews, informative and enjoyable. The weaker aspect IMHO is the TTK breakdown, I don't really see the point of showing the headshot ttk over 300m, which I feel is TOO theoretical to make anything of; while it would be interesting to have the dmg breakpoints of the most common armor/helmet loadouts analysed for instance, maybe considering whether the dmg improving attachments play any role there. I see the value of a clear cut and effective video format but for different weapon classes and such the weapon review could be adapted to be even more relevant. Despite my (hopefully constructive) criticism I've been waiting eagerly for each of your release, hope to see more from you. I'm especially interested in the xp system and the Squads/squad points mechanics.

I'd find it realy helpful to see not just the damage etc numbers for this weapon but where that sits compared to similar ones. Maybe just flashing up a not too detailed bar graph at some point when talking about a significant stat like damage, reload etc. Just my thoughts, really enjoy the content.

For you fellow supports- 1. WEAR LIGHTER ARMOR. It will fix the ADS and mobility problems to a substancial level. Exo armor is cool but it's not worth the 10% ads reduction on top of already slow ADS. Also, in the current build there is no way to rebuild armor, meaning after your first down, youre suffering the ADS penalty without reaping any benefits of the thicker armor 2. If you use a bipod, use semi-auto. The ADS is so slow that you'll need to fight at extended ranges to compensate. You give up dps in favor of high accuracy and unmatched sustain, yet still retain full auto to defend against pushes. In essence, force them to push into your full auto or pepper them to death by endless, accurate fire. May want an barrel to hide your flash as to not give your exact position too easily though

i run exo armor and adapt my playstyle to compensate slow movement speed and ads speed. I usually pre-aim the corner where i know its not cqc and if its cqc, i just yolo in and hipfire if there is anyone. Because i spray all the time when i know i can hit my shots, i tend to run out of mousepad vertically so i made my vertical sens when ads 2x my horizontal sens and its working great. I can spray 100 rounds without running out of mouse space.

Just some advice for CQC play. Hip fire prior to and during ADS to get shots on target while zeroing your aim. Using a laser will help to get headshots. I’ve even got the drop on some vector boys doing this.

Unfortunately time on each weapon system is hard to get when you have dedicated players to each category. Saying that, my system with 100% time in support and 95% on M249. My opinions differ, From how to play and attachments. Happy to see it calculated down to what should and to find improvements. Thank for the knowledge.

I think you’re leaving out an extremely crucial part of this build and that’s the support class you’re playing on, not only do you have more armor which helps when traveling to a spot you can nest up in but more importantly the fact that you can build walls instantly. Building instantly lets you make your own ‘gunners nest’ and really lets you hold an aisle or corner on the map and truly become a turret menace to your enemies. I’ve seen guides on how to make a nest and have used it in game with a bipod and it’s insane how OP you feel. Grenades, rockets and tank shells don’t break anything you build

I’d can’t wait till they release more lmgs, and I Hope the rework the bipod, just make it like in arma, if the bipod icon shows up you can press X and then you’ll glue yourself to the surface and now got a window of XYZ degrees where you can aim your weapon too, you can only get out of it if you press X again, and you’ll reduce vertical recoil by 80% and horizontal by 20% or less tbf.

4:59 Actually the m249's draw speed is around 0.683 seconds. All draw speeds are set to 1.00 as the default but that's not a number of time. The Ultimax 100 has a draw speed of 1.00 but actually takes about 1.7 seconds to draw.

In a 32 x 32 you can ignore the importance of crowd control. But in bigger maps, these weapons become insanely powerfull. Even if they cant compare one to one whiht other rifles, the abiliity to keep firing longer that the others cant be ignored. You can hold a push alone whithout reloading, you can kill an entire squad when you make a succesfull flank whithout reloading. No other weapon lets you do this.

I have around 1500 kills woth the M249 so far and my favorite build is flash hider + vertical grip with either strikefire or slip/red dot. Feels really nice and removes most of the muzzle flash without the recoil penalties of a suppressor.

Usually when my team is trying to push a long wide area, I find a spot the enemies might flank and I just wait. If my team fails, there is going to be 20 enemies pushing, don’t shoot yet, wait until they’re in the open and bomb.

My best tip for the M249 is just to take your time. Needlessly pushing or taking power positions at bad times will keep you from actually using the 100 rounds. Be methodical so you can find badly defended positions and remember you can play fortnite and get to some insane angles. Also URK grip is your best friend.

I think the issue with LMGs is that a team is much better with squad mates going free fire and using restraint. Having one player spray, pop smokes and RNG a high volume area compliments other teammate who are patient. If enemies cannot advance on a surpressed area they can get flanked, or funneled into a quiet area where another LMG can swat them down with bursts. Kind of like how having a sniper sit across the map is relatively useless for an objective, but it absolutely adds a stress factor and limits or punishes enemy play.
