I just bought the keyboard on the 11 inch and oh man it is fun to type on. At first I thought the differences was minimal, but the angle of the iPad, the touchpad, metallic finish, lights and function keys really grew on me. I am only concerned on the material below as you really have to be careful where you put the case on top of from damage. But so far loving it.
⌨I had the original and was going to pass on the new one but decided to get it for my M4 11 and your review is spot on, great upgrade from the previous and glad I added it. Thanks Marc! Great video as always!
⌨️ thanks for the positivity! Struggling with whether I should have gone with a 13” for the full size layout. How have you done going back and forth between this and a full size MacBook keyboard?
I used to use the mess out of the old magic keyboard so I know I would love this one! Only problem is im not willing to upgrade my M2 Pro yet. But im so tempted just for this
In the same boat, and in person it is nicer for me both the iPad and keyboard weren’t that much of an upgrade. RU-vidrs had me fooled, but most people you speak to in person including the Apple Store workers advised me Not to upgrade. It is lovely but prob not worth the upgrade unless you really really need the updates ie function keys.
@@sunnysingh01234thats super funny because I went to Best Buy for like the 3rd time in a week for this matter. The employee was like it’s not worth it.
Interesting! I personally found the light on the old keyboard to be almost not worth it, and I hated that I couldn’t turn it completely off knowing that it was sapping more battery to accomplish barely anything. But we all have our preferences!
There are a couple of videos that talk about when the iPad is in the magic keyboard and when you press the screen, the iPad rocks back due to the position of the hinge. The hinge is slightly elevated. Can you give us ur take on this?
It’s the same Magic Keyboard keys as the last model. The older one is slightly better than the new one. I get the other upgrades but the keys are the same. No change.
@@MarcTaraz Oh I did and I found the new version to be just slightly mushy but more of the same in the typing experience. I didn’t feel they built it different but maybe you did. Interesting.
Because one loves the touch aspect of a tablet. It’s so easy to maneuver around with simply touching a tablet. Now one could say, well you can just learn how to use a touch pad. But then you have to learn something, and I’m sure even the Apple touchpad has limitations. Then there’s the Apple Pencil, which is quite helpful for those who like to take handwritten notes, or who like to draw on their iPad. I got an Apple Pencil for my m4 iPad Pro. Now I likely won’t ever use it for drawing, but it does make for the worlds most expensive (and best) stylus. It is also nice to use instead of my finger, and it does reduce smudging. There’s also the portability of an iPad. You always have to take the keyboard along with a MacBook, & you don’t with an iPad. I like to call it a larger iPhone, without the phone part. A great in between device, that for me, I use 80-85% or more of the time. I only need a MacBook for word documents, storing music, and then for transferring the music to my iPhone. Until the day (if ever), that an iPad can store & transfer music, I’ll have to have a MacBook.
This is why I use the Air and got the 11 M4 Pro without a Magic Keyboard and strictly touch and pen use. If I really need a KB, it’s paired with a Mac Magic Keyboard at home but not something I would take always with me. It’s 2.3 lbs (11” with MKB) or 2.7lbs (13” with MKB) and at this weight it’s just silly to want to carry the iPad with the keyboard. I rather take my Air and 11” Pro so I have both to use as Mac still has more utility for my workflow
@@TokyoNeko8 I had the 12.9” and mkb but sold it. At 3 pounds and since I was exclusively using it with the keyboard, a Mac just made more sense. I am considering the 11” again because of the OLED screen and better portability
@@rickystafford7433 I have the same 12.9 and mkb. Other than pen which I don’t use often. It was silly for me to use it other than media playing so I got the 11” and no mkb. I paired it with a Mac Magic Keyboard I had laying around for when for some reason I keep a kb at home. Will never bring it out with kb. I got my air for that unless wddc has a miracle …
I haven’t had any issues thus far, i was a little concerned after watching jerryrigeverything’s video, but because its not rubbing or scraping against the glass, I think the snug fit makes sure that its merely pressed up against it and not damaging the screen. No issues thus far
@@MarcTaraz Thanks a lot for your view! :) I have the 11 Inch Version of the Magic Keyboard and really hope it where wont be any issues… I like the keyboard a lot and don’t want to return it :(
I like Apple too but cmon bro this glazing is cringe. All you RU-vid reviewers talking about the previous Magic Keyboard “oh it’s so great, the key travel, typing experience etc etc”….Apple drops a new Magic Keyboard “the old Magic Keyboard was trash, it wasn’t good, etc”
I’m planning to upgrade from my 2020 iPad Pro to the M4 iPad Pro. My only confusion is which color and keyboard color I should get. Currently, I have a Space Grey iPad and a Black Magic Keyboard. I like your combination of the Space Black iPad with the White Magic Keyboard! What do you think about it?
