As I was listening to this, I kept thinking about a specific line from the movie, He’s Just Not That Into You: “That boy is doing those terrible things because he’s got a crush on you.” Terrible things indeed. I won’t lie and say that the speaker was likable in the beginning - he really wasn’t. He was callous and arrogant - the perfect example of a class bully who cuts down those around them as a defense mechanism because they can’t unpack their own baggage and effectively communicate how they’re actually feeling. Your portrayal of him was great, though. You fully convinced me that he wasn’t worth a second of the listener’s time… until the words, “Don’t look at me like that. It hurts” were said. The way your voice went softer with those words, and the ones following it, made my heart skip a beat. The transition from the derisive jerk to a pleading, lovesick person was amazing! I honestly wasn’t planning on liking this guy, but you made him slightly more redeemable by the way you portrayed him near the latter part of the audio. The confession got to me, I have to say. As I’ve mentioned before, you can make even the most frustrating of characters engaging and likable. While I certainly couldn’t excuse the speaker’s behavior in the beginning, I would hope that moving forward, he would treat the listener with much more respect and care, especially if they were to begin a relationship.

i would love a second part where the listener doesn't let him hide behind his reputation. Doesn't let him go back to picking on them. And he's forced to choose between committing to being a better person or losing the second chance they're giving him
