Sincere congratulations, considering this model kit is for suck... parts that don't fit together correctly that require constant filing/sanding due to shoddy molds, and the VERY soft and brittle (cheap) polystyrene they used makes this model kit a challenging exercise in frustration. I have over 30 1/35 scale armor models in my current collection, and have built many more. I will NEVER buy another kit from AFV club. They could learn a lesson from Tamiya, a company that makes models with parts so precise they stay together without any glue in a lot of instances.
Yeah I hear you there the kit was not the greatest but it turned out ok I got the new one takom the newer big brother bergpanzer I'll be doing soon ty for watching
We had one of these when I was with 1/10 Cav in Vietnam It shot flame 5 feet out the exhaust louvers. it was the fastest armored vehicle we had and is gigantic. It pulled 2 M-48 tanks strapped together, stuck up to the turrets without breaking a sweat.
Good video!! Bought this particular kit about 10+ years ago, but do not recall the price. Currently pulled it out of storage and am building it. Discovered 2 holes in the A-frame where AIR BUBBLEs formed and popped during the molding process. PE screen for the a-frame does NOT fit properly. Few other minor problems so far but, since started building this thing, will try and make it look presentable. Do not care for AFV kits for there is usually quite a few problems to overcome. Instructions for weaving the string for the A-frame can be a bit confusing as well. Definitely need super-glue for better stability on a few major parts as well. I may have bought an earlier version of this kit for the instructions do call out Tamiya paint colors. My kit also was molded in TAN plastic. Also, the track shoes of my kit are actually RUBBER. Decals I have are for: Taiwan, US Army, USMC, German. While serving in US Army for 20 years, have been on the butt-end of this vehicle numerous times!!!! Have been towed by this vehicle and got to ride inside as well. Usually, once we got my broke vehicle towed back to the maintenance area, my vehicle would be literally covered in dust and/or mud - depending on weather conditions. Also got to drive one of these onto a rail car once - that was fun. Was at a rail head loading vehicles onto a train. I was the only person in the group that had experience with armored vehicles so was "volunteered" to drive this vehicle onto the rail car. Think I had to go over 5 rail cars before final positioning. The "pucker-factor" was in overdrive that day for about the tracks on each side of vehicle overhung the edges of the rail car. Was fun!!
There's 2 different m88 kits one os the US m88A1 with Nam box art newer version same kit new parts m88A1G G for German thats all!
