I belive if this wasn´t a World Championchip Liang Jinkun would have won this match. Ma Longs mental toughness is just out of this world.

I am always astonished by Ma long's ability to stay cool, control his opponent and his immense forehand shots. I wanted LJK to win so bad..but the thought of 3 straight WTTC champion excites me a lot. Unless Mattias pimple and backhand his way to victory (with Pearson assisting), there is no one to stop the dragon from taking his 3 consecutive titles. Go Ma long!

I was rooting for Liang, but Ma Long for all his hard work in table tennis deserves the title of the greatest of all time or at least in this modern era of table tennis. He has competed against great players like Ma Lin, Wang Liqin, Wang Hao, Zhang Jike, Xu Xin, and now the new generation of Lin Gaoyuan, Liang JingKun and Fan Zhendong, and has a positive record against all of them. China has so many talented and hard working players it makes me sad that just a few of them would become world champions. After that South Korea and Japan impress me in their commitment in cultivating young talent. Europe seems to lack way behind in cultivating young talented players with only Sweden giving the chance to younger players... In the time that China changed 3 generations of players from Kong Linghui and Liu Guoliang to Zhang Jike in the European scene I see the same names of Timo Ball and Vladimir Samsonov at the top. It doesn't speak well for the future of european table tennis...

For example, you can not easily make lightweight paper balls to fly quickly. Players will have more time to react and apply various techniques. So, to earn points, you must challenge players to run around the yards , then you can earn points. It calls athletic skills, which always warn audience. That is what we see in breathtaking exiting rallies in the past of table tennis. I explain why some manufactures specially make heavyweight balls, even thought heavyweight balls kill table tennis popularity and attractiveness. Players have trends to quickly finish rallies with less efforts. So many players love to make devastating fast balls to finish rallies. Of course, heavyweight balls are IDEAL TO QUICKLY FINISH RALLIES. And manufactures want to lure these lazy players to buy their heavyweight balls. Yeah shortsighted profit is the reason to make heavyweight balls to lure lazy players. Theses BUTTERFLY HEAVYWEIGHT BALLS MUST BE BANNED IN NEXT WORLD TABLE TENNIS EVENTS. Just try other lightweight balls, for example chinese lightweight YINHE balls, and you will see and feel ball controls and rallies. ITTF increased the ball size to try to slowdown speed, but ITTF does not reduce ball weight. So we see that heavyweight balls now fly quicker than in the past. It shows that majors ITTF heads are bad knowledge . It is one of the most reason why table tennis loses attractiveness since new heavyweight balls introducing. Do you remember full audience halls in the past ? Do you remember very often long rallies in the past ? . But now, rallies are rarely . So some major ITTF heads should retire now, so that new knowledge heads can apply the new rules to reduce and restrict ball weight. IDEAL BALL WEIGHT SHOULD BE UNDER 1.5 GRAMS .

Massive luck for LJK with the edge ball at 11-10 but still couldn't take down ML. ML is looking even better than he was in WTTC 2017. He is almost as good as he was in WTTC 2015. What a difference if we are comparing a pre-2013 Ma Long to the current Great Ma Long. The skills are pretty much the same or should I say the pre-2913 Ma Long had more power but the mental toughness is way off the chart in favor of today's Ma Long. He fed a lot of balls to the short right of Liang while so calm in long rallies. I just cannot disagree with Mr. Ma Long being the perfect and humble champion.

People tend to forget Ma Long is a better doubles player than Waldner as well

Liang Jingkun was lucky to beat Fan Zhendong this time. If Ma Long lost, whether Liang could win or not might be questionable. The point is Liang is not as stable, flexible, responsible, maneuverable, and smart as Ma Long. Liang Jinkung cannot be temporarily behind his opponent. If he is behind, he could be immediately emotional and disappointed and losing confidence, and this negative attitude could stay with him throughout the rest of the match to end up losing the game. Ultimately, both Liang Jinkun and Lin Gaoyuan need to practice more technically to gain the ability of dealing with all sorts of styles and changes during match.
