Maa on niin kaunis is a spiritual song, represented in Finnish, often associated with Christmas, but it is also sung during other seasons and occasions. The melody of the song comes from a collection of Silesian folk songs published in 1842 and the lyrics were published by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben who also authored the German national anthem. The song was translated into Finnish by Hilja Haahti in 1903.
