De Maashaven is één van de havens van Rotterdam. De Maashaven ligt nabij de Rijnhaven en de oude wijk Katendrecht. De aanleg duurde van 1898 tot 1905. De oppervlakte is 60 ha. De Maashaven is net als de Rijnhaven aangelegd voor de overslag van massagoed 'op stroom'. Langs de kades van de Maashaven bevinden zich de vuilverbranding van de AVR (vroeger ROTEB), enkele silo's van (vroegere) graanbedrijven en opslagplaatsen, zoals de Meneba, de Quaker en de "Oude Graansilo", waar de populaire discotheek Maassilo is gevestigd. De Maashaven is tevens een ligplaats voor onder andere binnenvaart schepen en is bereikbaar met lijn D en E, van de Rotterdamse metro (Maashaven). De Brielselaan loopt langs de Maashaven. De woonomgeving bij de Maashaven van de Tarwewijk is de laatste jaren vernieuwd. Sinds 2004 is naast het metrostation Maashaven een woontoren gesitueerd. Deze woontoren, met de naam "The Queen of the South" bevat het Arthotel, kantoorruimte en 11 etages met elk 8 (grote) appartementen. Vanaf station Maashaven start de Dordtselaan. Het Rotterdamse metrostation Maashaven is een station van lijn D en lijn E gelegen op een viaduct aan het uiteinde van de Maashaven op de zuidoever van de Nieuwe Maas. Bij station Maashaven kan worden overgestapt op tramlijn 2. Het station is zeer hoog gelegen en heeft een tamelijk imposante structuur. De stationshal "zweeft" boven het straatniveau, direct onder de perrons. Uitgangen verbinden de hal direct met de tramhalte. Twee liften, die niet tot het oorspronkelijke ontwerp van het station behoorden en later zijn geïnstalleerd, leiden van de perrons direct naar de straat. Het station werd geopend in 1968 bij de ingebruikname van de Rotterdamse metro. Graansilo's Maashaven Aan de zuidzijde van de Maashaven vormen de graansilo's en de Meneba-meelfabriek de laatste restanten van het verleden als graanhaven. Het silocomplex verloor begin eenentwintigste eeuw zijn functie. Sinds 2003 waren delen in gebruik als locatie voor de houseparty's en feesten van Now&Wow. Tussen 2005 en 2008 is hier de Creative Factory ontwikkeld voor jonge en/of allochtone startende ondernemers. De oudste Rotterdamse graansilo van de Graan Elevator Maatschappij (GEM) op de hoek van de Brielselaan heeft zijn functie inmiddels verloren. Meelfabriek Meneba is nog steeds in gebruik, net als de meelfabriek Latenstein op Katendrecht.
