@@cfalcon8342 It seemed to calm her if I recall. She's 9 months old now and way better at sleeping when she needs to be. Only a few short years and then I can introduce her to games like this one.
I actually didn't like it at first since I don't think it's in the game (or maybe and I didn't hear it because it's most easily heard in the beginning)
It definitely sounds like a music box clicking, but toy pianos click with each keystroke. Notice how the mechanical sounds happen with each note during the toy piano's part.
This is such a smart arrangement. I love the decision to keep the instrumentation small, and to pass the melody between different instruments. It really feels like this was the original intention of the 8-bit Game Boy game. Nintendo's music people are just the best, bar none.
I always imagined the song would start simple with one instrument and burst into a beautiful melody whenever I listened to the original 8 bit theme. It really sounds identical to how I imagined it playing Link's Awakening DX on my 3Ds.
Really, that is the brilliance behind the track. It's that it is so simple, your mind runs wild with what it "could" sound like. I think they(nintendo) are good at just that. Too little is too much, too much is to little. They always knew that. I feel like this still implemented today in a lot of their designs. I would not agree with you that it sounds like it could be passed between instruments. But, that is why I love the track. I prefer the original also due to that same freedom. But this sounds nice. I also love that they kept the instrumentals small in sound. I haven't had a chance to try this remake yet. I'll have to get around to it
Such an absolutey touching arrangement.... The toy like sound and theme... The music box clicking as the pieces grind and release. The overall design and feel of this arrangement... It's almost as if Nintendo knew how much this game represented a time LONG GONE.. for me... It's the time when I was just a child... The world was still so bright and wonderful.. and most of all, I still saw my mother's face everyday.. this game was one I played a BUNCH back then. But never seemed to finish. Not for a lack of trying but I loved this game so much that I would play through the first half or so of the game again and again.. the game was just precious to me. It was an absolute gem for that little boy I once was.. the 16 bit version will forever be ingrained in my memory.. but this one did so well that it too will never be forgotten.. Nintendo may never see this..... But truly... Thank you guys.... For all the memories and joy you have brought me... And all the hard times you've gotten me through with these magical games like this one... And this song does such a great job of painting the old old pictures that have faded from memory... How different the world is from those days.....
God...I liked this theme when I played Link’s Awakening a few years ago, but now I just love it. This sounds like a RU-vid reorchestration, something that would never actually be in a real game, and I’m so happy it is.
When I was little, I had my Gameboy with Links Awakening, and at night when I was trying to sleep, I would boot it up and just listen to Mabe Village, it made me very happy. This brought tears to my eyes
While playing the game I find it overwhelmingly sad that Ocarina of Time took place took place thousands of years ago and BOTW will take hundreds of thousands of years after this game. The disillusionment of so much time passing.
@@Hahaa99 Aww, it's true... I know what you mean, that feels so weird, that, even though we've experienced all those adventures, they're so far away in the past or future, depending on where we are in the moment. ;v;
I haven't played the original, and I was all like: OH NO THE CHAIN CHOMP IS GONNA KILL ME WHY DO THEY HAVE IT THERE and after the first dungeon I realized that thing can't hurt you
Best song to remember our good times when COVID-19 never came out, the best way to remember all our good times with our friends, lovers, and family, a very nostalgic theme to everyone in general
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is the game I feel the most nostalgic for everytime I play it and listening to this makes me shed many tears of nostalgia, it's... beautiful.
@@Videospiel-Man5730 You're actually 100% right on that, which is something that ONLY YOU have been able to clearly, and correctly, refute me on. Princess Zelda's Rescue came first, so this song would sound like that. Either way, Horon Village (Oracle of Seasons) sounds A LOT like Zelda's Lullaby/Zelda's Rescue
Long looong time ago, Link's Awakening was one of the first games I ever remember playing. I never got too far into it, only ever beating the first two dungeons before wanderlust took over and I got burnt out from exploring. 20 years later, I'm close to finally waking the Wind Fish.
Playing through the remake for the first time was just as magical as playing the original for the first time. Links awakening, pokemon leaf green and super mario deluxe were the three games my cousin gave to me when he gave me his gameboy. Still remember those days like it was yesterday.
I played this version of the game before the original and the second this comes on you can just tell it's gonna be great. it's one of those typical nostalgic Game Boy RPG starting town songs and I love it
I honestly loved this game on the Switch, and I want to see more Zelda games in this style, along this beautiful music. Makes me feel relaxed and content
The flute that comes in at 49 seconds just encapsulates the feeling of weightless childish adventure. Now close your eyes and imagine this is all Christmas music... It could very well be the score of home alone or something like that when his family returns at the end.
@@klg9549 Oh you're right. It's weird last week I swear it started at 39 seconds... Maybe I'm cutting too much grass my mind is foggy. and thank you for the corrections I didn't know I thought 1:13 was recorder LOL I need to brush up on my knowledge.
Games change. fps shooters are taking over, company’s are bought and changed, and company’s abandon the characters of old to chase the new trend so I salute Nintendo for staying true to what they are and never giving up on us video game lovers who miss the simple times booting up their Nintendo 64 to play Ocarina of time.
Is it me, or does anyone else think this game feels a lot like Nintendo Land? With the music box, the cutesy art style, and the simplicity of it all, I definitely think so.
Was given the original game for GBC by a friend I haven't seen in a while and don't really know how to find. But the complete makeover of the music just really makes me emotional
It makes sense, as Ocarina of Time, which featured Zelda's Lullaby the first time, was the game which followed the original Link's Awakening. I think that song was based on this.
I just realized that if you add a Y to the middle of Mabe, you would get Maybe Village. Does this count as foreshadowing for the ending or am I just overthinking this?
