I really had a very nice experience flying Business Class in PAL. What made it more memorable was that one of the cabin crews was my former student when he was in high school. What a small world indeed.

Very good video!! I'm not a frequent flier but every couple of years we go to the Philippines and always in economy class. I have used Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, and Philippine Airlines at various times, and although because I'm a Canadian I far prefer the food on Air Canada, and somehow felt I had a little more leg room on their 777-300ER as compared to either the Cathay or PAL, I have to say PAL has always treated us very well in that they on one trip just moved my wife and I into business class after the first leg of the journey from Toronto to Vancouver, and gave us the pleasure of seeing just how nice it can be for the next 11 hours from Vancouver to Manila. On shorter flights between Manila and Iloilo they have also asked me if I'd like to move into the vacant seats by the emergency exit due to the fact that I'm a bit taller and could use the extra leg room. How could I possibly not love this kind and friendly airline and their employees?

$1100 for a BUSINESS CLASS SEAT??? How? I've honestly been looking everywhere for prices like this and lowest I can find are over 2500.

I have been on Philippines airline 4 times to Philippines and I think is one of the best airlines in Asia.

Way back when I was a child I flew with Philippine Airlines twice to Manila from Sydney to Istanbul and back. Both experiences were delightful and the courtesy of the crew was extraordinarily friendly and commendable. I see nothing has changed and very quaint lovely Filipino people are so refreshing. Well done Philippine Airlines.

Hey Sam, did you notice the landing? I'm always impressed by how smooth the PAL touchdown is no matter the weather. It'd be interesting to get feedback from a frequent flyer like you who've flown in many different airlines.

The flight attendant was so polite when asking him why he was filming inside the plane. In other places they would have yelled at him to stop filming or taken his camera away 😄

I still get surprised when flight attendants of other carriers do not smile. I suppose that's just a cultural thing.

PAL is one of the best when comes to warmth and genuine hospitality. My two cents worth on the 2-2-2 configuration on the business class I think is really outdated they need to phase it out in order to achieve the 5 star rating that they have been planning to get. Also in high volume flights like to and from the middle east, the economy class is a little bit cramped as compared to other airlines. Nonetheless, overall in the past years PAL's improvement has been really amazing, from a near bankrupt airline after 1997 crisis to a booming and forward thinking airline now. Keep it up PAL.

I've been in many airlines going in and out of the country. I would say Filipino hospitality is a gem. The attendants is so approachable unlike the other airlines Ive been too. I saw some attendants of foreign countries being rude to my co-passengers and don't wanted to be disturbed from their work.

Last flight I had with Philippine airlines was before the lockdown. I remembered how nice the flight attendant. She even check and clean the restroom before you enter

I been on Philippine airlines 4 times now.. 2 return trips and i can definitely vouch for what sam has said here.. definitely one the best airlines out there.. such lovely crew and surprisingly organised hehe.. They do a nice nonstop service from london to manila with nice food too.. They also care for your needs too.. one of the girls noticed from my facial expression i don't like sitting next to people.. so she offered me 2 seats at the back of the plane so i had my own space.. wonderful : ) xd

Philippine airline does an wonderful job.Cabin crew on all my flights have always set a high standard for award winning service!!! A true sign of the wonderful Filipino hospitality!!!

Here's my experience of the PAL A330 economy class. The ground service and food service pretty decent. When it comes seat conrort, it did not go well but with the pillow comforter and the annuity kit make it quit great. I only get an hour of sleep but if I wanna sleep more I would rapvthe comforter over my neck and put the eye path which will make it a great experience. Other than that my first experience with PAL was quit good, and deserve 4 stars.

I loved the totally natural and totally not scripted ad for the suitcase.

I totally agree with you Sam, in the Philippine Airlines you can feel the warm welcoming treatments of the cabin crew.

Id definitely prefer this Over Delta business class first the price and second the Service. The crew makes you feel at home thats first class to me :)

I rode cathay pacific. I upgraded from economy to their luxurious business class for less than 100$

They used the same configuration on a short domestic flight from dvo to Mnl surprisingly since it was not peak season yet.

The flight stewardess who interviewed the vlogger was the same flight stewardess who assist me go to HCMC. GREAT SERVICE!!!

Interesting - I flew PAL business VAN/MNL round trip in May. Newer 777 I think - comfortable and not the awkward set up when sleeping. Also flew from MNL to Australia and back on PAL (1-2-1 configuration) and had a lot of privacy in a single seat which was nice. So much privacy I didn't realize there was a Filipino celebrity on the same flight until someone told me later - I was busy watching Black Panther I guess 😂 The only thing was that when I reclined the seat all the way to sleep I found I had to move my bag (stored under the seat in front). Prob the angle - not an issue for the seats in the middle. Since PAL business class is generally cheaper than a lot of other airlines I feel it's pretty good value for money... at least in my experience. I haven't been on one of the older planes though... are they phasing those out? Anyways, always great service from the crew regardless of route/plane. I think you'll definitely appreciate their newer business class offerings, Sam.

In my second flight (Singapore - Philippines) I got hungry so we ordered some food (it was dinner time so whatever) I ordered adobo with rice (My fav :D) I was about to take my first bite then... *The plane turned* The rice in my spoon fell off and fell on me... *It was newly cooked and very hot* Very painful...

Business class in the Philippines needs a lot of work. After all it's good that the government is working on a new international airport. the airport is way too small and congested. Cheers

It was wise for PAL to gradually restructure the cabin for a triclass layout. 1-2-1 Business, 2-3-2 Premium, 2-4-2 Economy holding a 309 passenger capacity.

Thanks Sam for a great video again. PAL has gone through some rough patches in the last couple of years, starting with the Asian financial crisis. They've had better amenities before. But, they are slowly getting up. As a trend in the Philippines, budget travel has been the focus of most airlines. Thanks for the honest review and hopefully management sees this and improve upon what you have said.

BEEN waiting for this all day

I've recently flown on PAL in economy and all the staff were so friendly and nice. The food was good too. The only small downside is that there's only a small selection of movies and music. I just listened to spotify on my phone and watched any random movie from the screen. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience. I recommend it.
