Mac Jones is entering his second season in the NFL, after making the playoffs his rookie year. However, his growth may be at question. According to New England Patriots beat writer Mike Giraldi, the QB is 'struggling' more than last summer with changes to the team's offensive staff. Colin Cowherd explains why he is concerned for Jones, along with how Bill Belichick will continue to struggle in his second season without Tom Brady. Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa and New York Giants QB Daniel Jones are entering their first seasons under new head coaches. While both QBs are under pressure this season, which one will have the better year based off of practice footage across social media? Colin decides.

Love Colin but, Colin has one objective. He wants a huge extension and he will say anything with a sense of conviction when actually he has no f'n idea what the real truth may be and he could care less. Say anything one day and another the next and let's move on, it's a joke. What’s funny is that before Tua was drafted, Colin was Tua’s number one fan, and when Tua isn’t throwing it deep a lot because of a terrible offense, Colin jumped off the bandwagon and here he is. Saying all of these positive things about Tua when all of these 50-60 yard bombs came out and talking nicely about Tua again. Sorry Colin, should’ve been supporting Tua the whole time.

I do agree with the coaching tree stuff. B.Flo tried that whole 2 OC’s now Pats have a defensive offense coach with a special teams coach also calling plays. Ego kills in a team oriented job. Brady elevates his team as long as he has a weak division, a stud TE and receivers, those PEDs, video intel from opponents’ practices, deflated balls, and refs giving him every call if you breathe on him. And let’s keep it all the way 100. It’s no accident that, as more bl@q QBs begin to take over the league, they highlight the best biracial QB and set things up do that Brady will win more - allowing a wyt3 man to remain the arguable GOAT for another century. Montana’s SB total is reachable for Russ, Mahomes, and others, but Brady’s isn’t. That’s why they’re promoting this Brady is the GOAT slogan. IMO, Montana is still the GOAT but the NFL execs know what they’re doing.

You can't be shockingly bad and take a 1-4 team - widely considered the worst team in the league at the time - to the playoffs by being shockingly bad. On the contrary, for what Tebow had to work with, he was quite brilliant. And he always turned it up a notch when it mattered most, helping his team come back from deficits in the 4th quarter. Daniel Jones was accurate in college his receivers were dropping everything. If you look at Daniel Jones rookie season he had 24 TD passes and ran for 3 Tds in 12 games. Turnovers are definitely a problem but he was at least productive. The Joe Judge & Jason Garret era with all the injuries no QB would have done good

I love Colin but he did not just say without Bill, Tom would have no SBs. You can say that same think back at Bill and in recent years, we've seen it more-so in Tom's favor. I'd argue Brady would have at least 1 if not more, if he didn't go to NE.

Change is always uncomfortable. You'll know what the Pats are after five games. One other thing, forget about two years ago. Last year is the benchmark. Last year is the first year of transition. Belichick prepares week to week better than most coaches and that's his strength. And his coaching offspring have yet to embrace that concept.

Mac is having a great camp. The biggest part of the new offense install is a rework of how the OL blocks in a Shanahan type system. That's where all the problems are right now, miscommunication and missed assignments blocking. 7 on 7s offense looks great. Add the line it gets rough. The problem is, of course, until the line starts to become somewhat consistent, the rest of the offense can't develop and practice effectively. So I think it's fair to assume this offense is going to be behind where it wants to be when the season starts. The question is how quickly can they catch up and reach their new 'baseline'.
