In my eyes it’s “cruelty vs. cruelty free”. Elf may be the cheaper, less quality but has better ingredients and doesn’t torture animals for makeup. An animals life should never be taken away for a piece of makeup.

Brooklyn Villa Mac doesn't test on animals but they do sell to china which does. It just depends how you feel about that as a person. When it comes to running a business, now that I've seen what it's like, I'm not going to complain about who a company sells to.

ELF WINS!!!!⭐️⭐️🤩🤩 Elf wins and I don’t even need to watch the video to know that because Elf is cruelty free and Mac isn’t so Elf automatically wins!! We’re in 2018 shouldn’t we be testing on animals! Animals and beings too and they deserve rights and I find it very sad that an expensive company that a lot of people use and is considered like a more “luxury” brand is doing such horrible stuff! And elf is an AFFORDABLE brand that still has a heart and DOESN’T test on animals which is something I’ll never understand why all brands can’t be cruelty free! ELF WINNSSSSSSS!!

The Elf gel eyeliner is very reasonable in price and works great. Last all day and only $3.00 at Target. Highly recommend.

Lauren Roma I am so glad that I'm not the only one who noticed it. Is she just started doing it it's not like she's been doing it for years just the past couple of videos before this one she started doing our intro like Laura Lee does. I mean it's cool to copy different makeup styles and reviews and all that cuz I mean people do you'll have one that well review a pallet and then either that day or the day later or a month later another person is doing the same one. But to copy someones intro because you want to get more views it's bullshit you're going to end up losing the views because you're acting like someone else. I like her older videos before she started this. She was herself and now I just feel like she wants to be like Laura Lee and it's sad. Elf makeup is great when you're on a budget. If you are a teenager and/or little skin problems/acne... it's a great product. But from my experience I can say my skin has changed over the years. I used elf makeup in the beginning because I liked the price point and it got the job done. But as I got older.. it wasnt compatible on my skin how it use to be. It was clogging my pores and made my skin looked washed out after. It is cheap makeup in the end of the day. If you have tough skin.. then it's definitely a steal and I could imagine totally worth it. But for others out there such as myself.. I would rather spend the extra money so my skin doesn't age too quickly/produce acne with the cheaper product. Elf and mac may look somewhat identical but in the end of the day.. all depends on the person and their skin.

I use quite a few of elf products and I don't use Mac, but I can still see that the mac products look way better than elf. The left side(right face) looks cheap and cakey compared to the right side(left face). I use rhianna fenty beauty which is cruelty free and looks just as good as mac if not better!

SYLVIA IDK IF ANYBODY DID THIS BUT CHOOSE VARIETIES OF DIFFERENT MAKE-UPS THAT'LL BE OF USE FOR FULL FACE( Brand doesn't matter ), Write the names of the make-up on pieces of paper and shuffle them in like a hat or sonething, whatever you pull out you use for the make-up, but make sure the different types are in different hats. #NotYourChoiceChallenge :D

Savera_ Elf can look good if you get the right products. Their Mad for Matte palettes have really good reviews. Besides MAC is too expensive for me, I just started makeup so there's really no need for me to get high-end products.

I compared by looking at the pimple on the elf side and the one on the Mac side (which was on the forehead) so personally I believe that Mac is better but Elf is such an amazing brand to compare to Mac

Elle Brody Yeah I agree that the Flawless Finish Foundation has a light to medium coverage. However, their Acne Fighting Foundation is pretty full coverage based on reviews. I use the BB cream from elf, and it gives a decent amount of coverage. Like I said, I think you just gotta look for the right products (they're there). 😂

Cruelty free means it's not tested on animals, vegan means it has no animal products in it. Some things "accidentally" don't have animal products but they still test their products on animals, and others are "cruelty free" like NYX or Milani but they still put animal products like lanolin and Red #40 in their products.

I would choose ELF bc it's really cheap and it has the same effects with the Mac one so I would definitely choose ELF also; ELF has a lot of skin care products that's really good

i used to love MAC products but they're not cruelty-free so I stick with Kat von D, ELF, Cover FX, and other brands that are completely vegan and cruelty-free :)

Sylvia may complain about her zits but really that is why she is one of my favorite youtubers. A lot of other youtubers have extremely flawless skin and it doesn't really help when you go to do your own makeup. Love you so much Sylvia and keep it up💕

Emily Giadone I think it's cos of the makeup Sylvia uses sometimes can break her out and also whatever skincare product she uses. But beauty gurus who have flawless skin like Kathleenlights knows what products don't break her out. She's one of my faves cos I use to have bad skin but when Kathleenlights discovers a new product and she includes it in her skin routine but sees it broke her out she quickly gets rid of it. It's all about discovering and researching. I think Sylvia needs to go through all her products and work out what is making her skin bad so she doesn't need to wear heavy makeup cos that makes the skin worse

E.L.F. ALL THE WAY!!! Elf is cruelty free and vegan, where Mac isn’t. Overall, I think Elf looked better (A more natural look) They looked basically exactly the same yet, Mac is wayyyy more expensive. You could probably buy 5 foundations at elf for the same price of 1 bottle at mac. So overall elf wins for me

I love elf! I had a lil crayon for a while in a berry kind of color and I'd use it all the time! It worked really well for ombre lip looks and if you put some in only the center of your lip it looked great with lipgloss!

People don't really give drugstore makeup a brand. I have been using drugstore makeup for the LONGEST and couldn't be happier. It's easier on my wallet and it does just as well as the high end makeup. High end has some really goo products but, I think more people buy MAC for the name.
