Shalini, your clarity in explaining the software and comparing highlighting the key aspects is amazing. It gives ‘software illiterates’ like me a perspective which is highly educative. Thank you Shalini and let me wish you a Very Happy Deepawali. Take care. Pandurang from Mumbai, India
Thank you for sharing this video! I to work in finance, and in adapting to the loss of a vision. At age 37 I feel like I have reached a life reset. I would love to hear more about your career experience being visually impaired; maybe this is another video idea?
Hi Shalini! I’m visually impaired that not used to navigate my devices using screen reader but only built in magnifier tools. I’m wondering how I can find a job using my device and what skills do I need to learn and master to get started. I wish you can give me some advice regarding to my concern. Thank you in advance!
Can you not use jaws on a Mac computer to a thought you could but maybe I am wrong I’m just wondering if that’s if I’m wrong then I will get each piece or some kind of Windows computer. Thanks bye. 😢😮
If at any time you feel comfortable doing so, please show us some of the problems you run into using Jaws or VO in your online activities. I have been compiling a set of videos showing how bad inaccessible sites can be. I share these with the software engineers and product managers and designers I work with.
I completely agree that there are many stumbling blocks with these programs and I am curious to hear what advancements or recommendations you and your team recommend
@@patrickjeffs2689 To be clear I'm trying to find common problems in the websites, not in JAWs or VO. But as far as remedies go, the technical remedies are awareness and adherence to ARIA and W3C A11Y guidelines. But I find that the root of the problem is inattention or lack of awareness from the product managers who forget to specify the requirements and designers who forget that a website isn't a painting to hang in a museum.
