Macarons can be a hard to make, even to professionals. Akis is so pro that can make them beautiful and delicious!

You have forgotten one important step in the making of macarons, you have to add a drizzle of extra virgin Greek olive oil at the end before serving

Thank you for making these look straightforward to bake - I had thought macaroons were time-consuming and complicated but this looks not the case. I can't wait to try - just love anything with almonds.

Finally a recipe that worked. I tried macarons couple of time and always something went wrong. I didn't have trust in this recipe but boy I was wrong. They came out great. Thank you Akis

we don't have food coloring paste in the US. I guess the liquid would work. just have to watch the amt. Wonder if I added almond flavor to dough.. would it give it a kick. Lots of work.. I'd make these for holidays. Red and Green. Pepper jam.. it's a little hot. In the south they smear it over cream cheese. Pick a pepper sauce is the name.

Akiiii help meeee! Complete failure... I am sooo disappointed.. :( The macarons stayed flat, they didn’t grew, and most of them cracked.. what did I do wrong? Some details: My oven was set to upper/lower heat element plus fan, and the flour was refrigerated, eggs where room temperature. Please help!

hmmm I follow a lot of Akis' recipes but i have a feeling that the macarons that were resting for one hour are not the same macarons that he took out of the oven. The peaks on the macarons were way too high when going into the oven. I've made macarons many times and every time a peak was not smoothed out with water on finger they always showed up in the final cook. i could be wrong but i am suspicious this time. sorry akis! xx

depends on how much you fold the dough.. next time fold it some more... it becomes more watery so they "level off" while waiting for an hour.. you should not have to level them with a wet finger... also important to tap them on the counter... as about the macarons out of the oven they are not the same...

when I went back to check on them after 1 hour rest on table, it was one big consistent mass, the small macaron pieces merged into one thin 'layer' . After some reading I suspect the egg whites or the room temperature might had something to do with this. Anyways, I am hopeless. :(

You did not actually make flour. Flour is milled and separates the hull from the seed. What you made was very fine crushed almond with sugar. That's not flour.
