Macau 1967 

This old 8 mm cine film shows Macau on 15 February 1967. In th 1960s Macau was a relaxing break from Hong Kong. As the film shows, it was quiet, uncrowded and with little traffic. The film shows the hydrofoil, the SS Macau with the large union flag painted on the side to deter pirates (who knew that the Royal Navy would find them if they attacked a British vessel), the building site for what became the Hotel Lisboa, street scenes and the zoo. There were no roads connecting the islands, only small casinos and no airport - and no mainland gamblers.
