@@julienolke I'm with Emma on this. When I teach Shakespeare, I always go with Macbeth because so few college students have read it yet, and they generally like it. Definitely using this video next time I teach it. Absolutely love humor that gets the literature it's playing around with. I shared your hysterical Pandora/Zeus Zoom call with my mythology class last term for those same reasons.

Fun Fact: Shakespeare's play was based on an actual event, but everything the historical Macbeth did was above-board and in line with the values of the time. His lady's name was actually recorded: Gruoch. It's no wonder she preferred to be known as Lady Macbeth!

Yeah, I thought that Macbeth, while a good play, was basically written for James I, because he was a nerd who liked witchcraft and wanted to hear something good about his ancestors (who was MacDuff, I believe.) As such, Shakespeare added in the witches and made Macbeth the bad guy of what amounts to a standard historical account.

My English class had a mock trial where we blamed the witches. I chose to defend them bc i thought they did nothing wrong. All they did was tell two men their future. They did NOT say that Macbeth needed to murder King Duncan to become king. Long story short: my side won

@@cooperminion825 I think that would work for most cases but It's made pretty clear that the witches understand the results of their words. Imagine this: 1) You convince a woman to cheat on her husband with someone else. 2) You get the husband drunk. 3) You give the husband a gun. 4) You ensure the husband catches his wife cheating. I'm not sure if there is any legal crime you could be convicted of but you definitely have some responsibility for those deaths.

​@@cooperminion825 1) Macbeth refused to kill Duncan multiple times. He was talked into it. 2) The original Incitement was from the Sisters. 3) The Sisters knew how MacBeth would react to their prophesy. This makes them responsible for what happened.

Well, I have to disagree on the double positive, "yeah" means you heard the message it is neither positive or negative, a true double positive would be (in Nancy speak) "ya, right". "Ya" being shortform Jersey for "yes"😁

oh my god..... I've been watching your videos like crazy for the past 2 weeks, and I KNOW you play all the characters, but I didn't realize that dark haired woman was you until the ad read at the end! (it is 6 AM) but still, that's pretty impressive. Like I legitimately thought it was one of your infrequent guest actresses that you sometimes have on and didn't even consider that it was actually you with a wig on. WHOA. mind blown.
